Ever been on a blind date? Update pg 3!

Just wanted to update!

The date went wonderfully. We had planned on just grabbing coffee and ended up sitting and talking for almost five hours. We have very similar interests and beliefs and he was a perfect gentleman. We have been talking lots and have plans for dinner this Friday. I can't wait! Just sitting across from him, I had butterflies in my stomach nearly the whole time.

I am so glad I decided to go for it!

That's great autumn!! I somehow missed this thread when you first posted but so good to hear it went really well.

It reminds me of my first date with my DH. Although it was not a blind date set up it was "blind" in the sense that we had met on a phone dating system (pre-internet dating) and this was our first in person meeting. We were meeting for coffee at 3pm which lasted about four hours and then I decided to cook him dinner too. He took his "ad" off the system the next day (I slightly panicked when I tried to listen to it again and couldn't find it until he called and told me why) and we've now been together for 17 yrs.

Enjoy this time - it's so exciting!

I have been on many. many of them. Back in my 20's I won a membership to a video dating service. Usually once a weekend I had a date with someone the service sent me. Most were zzzzzzzzzzzzz but I approached it as I got to go out to nice dinners and have good conversation with someone new.

A slight spin on PP's posts. My parents met on a blind date; and my mom HATED him the first time they went out - thought dad was a smart aleck. No clue why she went out on a second date but thank god she did! So, of course I am all for them bc, if it wasn't for a blind date, I wouldn't be here!

I have only been on a couple of blind dates before I was married, but at the risk of sounding conceited, I am brilliant at fixing people up on blind dates! So far, I have 6 marriages under my belt of couples I personally fixed up on blind dates. Perhaps I missed my calling and should have been a matchmaker...

Another blind date success story here! DH and I were set up by a friend - we were engaged within 5 months and married a year later. This summer we'll celebrate our 10 year anniversary!
