Ever able to bank points AFTER deadline?

I am familiar with the DVC policies on banking/borrowing, etc. but am just curious to know if anyone ever was able to bank any of your points even after you were beyond the stated cut-off for doing so?

I did last month. I have an April use year and my 100% banking deadline was 9/30. My Mom and I had a trip planned for late November (we would be there now) but she passed away on 9/30. I decided to cancel the trip in mid October (I had debated about taking my niece but decided to wait until next June) and they allowed me to bank 162 points even though 50% would only have been 125. They did not allow me to bank the 3 borrowed points I used for the reservation, so those are still in my 05 year.

I bought 100 VWL Dec. use year points last November. They would have expired 2 weeks after I bought them, but they banked them into the new year
