EVENT Swap: COMPLETE

Love them DIT. I believe someone else ordered from the same ebay seller (me...lots). They are just fabulous.

AWM, you stay off those hills! If we need to wait for you I think we can manage!

DIT~ I think, I hope I get both sets! AWESOME! Love that ribbon!

I hope it's okay, but I changed my mind today while I was working on this swap group: Group C Disney Christmas

I just couldn't get excited about "tags" and had no ideas. So I switched my single element to a title. Is that okay? I got inspired so I went with it. I just got SCAL so I did a welded title with a shadow. The top layer is diamond dust sparkly paper--so does that mean it's already considered embellished enough? Or do I need to add more?

Thanks ladies!

Sure, it is not a repeat. I made the change on the 1st page.

Yes, welded and shadowed and sparkly is good:thumbsup2

Susan I have been working on my pp for Group A (single elements). I know both of us are doing pp so I wanted to let you know which ones I have been working on. I am going to do two for each person, because I just can't seem to get them to really line up. I don't know if it is me or if it is the svg file. But here is the link to the two pp I am doing:

(deleted the link )

I am doing the Mickyand Minnie behind the pumpkin and Pluto in the pumpkin. Just wanted to let you know so we can prevent from duplicating. If you have already done this one let me know and I can change them. I have just cut out one of each.

I'm making an evil queen for my villains spot and I haven't decided yet on the other group...maybe a pooh dressed up. THanks for checking with me.

You know I think I am going to change my mind. I just am not happy with the two I did. Like shameful not happy.Even my ds3 said they are ugly.:sad2: Are you doing the evil queen from the site you did the Urusla for the surprise swap? I have done her files before plus she did one for me for DIT page swap going on and I can get those to work out right. So I think I am going to do one of her's (Queen of Hearts) or go with my hand made ones. Off to try the Queen of Hearts.

Yes,from Mardenz. I agree with you - -I think those files are just not quite right.

Thank goodness it was not me. I know I am still a novice at SCAL, but not as bad as I thought with what I ended up with.

If you get a chance can you go to Mardenz website and click on the Queen of Hearts for me. I have imported her cut files, but can not find anything for the Queen's yellow strips. I may have to just to it by hand.

When I imported the file it was huge! I clicked the keep proportions box and then changed the height to 5 inches - -the stripes showed up then.

I did the same thing. I just had to cut it out that way instead of going into inkscape and making each cut a new file. I like to do it that way , because its faster to cut out and I dont have to cut all these colors to a certain size. I am working on her right now. This one is coming out much better that the others I was working on.

Would you two mind sharing the site that you like for the SCAL paper piecings? mardenz?? What's that? I am brand new using SCAL and I'd like to learn. Thanks!

Here is the link to her blog:

She has tons of free scal files for you to use. Scroll down towards the bottom there is a list and you can click on it or just browse her site. I really have liked her stuff. I am working on the Queen of Heats now and it is turning out sooooo much better than the other cut files I was using.

I think I understand what you are talking about but I don't know how to do this. To use her cuts, I have been cutting all the different colors and cutting out the whole paper piecing at once. Really a PITA.

Yes a big PITA. Its the first time I did it this way, but I do have to say the Queen came out nice. I just finished the 6 up. The other way I go and use inkscape and have to delete all the cuts except for the one and do a "save as". It took me some time to figure out, but it just kinda of happened one day.

There is someone on here that is doing me a BIG favor and doing a svg file for this swap. Which reminds me I need to go buy a
envelope. Don't ask....lol

I am new to SCAL and have been using the files from the same website. Recently (like last weekend) SCAL released a free upgrade and you can break apart the images in SCAL now. I downloaded the Stitch and pushed break apart and each piece separated.

Wow! THanks so much for posting this. I didn't know about the that. I wish provocraft would take a lesson from SCAL and make CDS more user friendly.

I just downloaded the new version and used the break apart feature.:cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks for the info. I am to tired to do it tonight, but I will go and do the update tomorrow and try it out. My dh got me SCAL2 for Christmas.
