Event nites - how do they make non-ticket holders leave?

I’ve always been curious about event nites and how they are managed. If the park closes early, say 8pm, but ticket holders are allowed in from 6pm, do they make everyone else leave? How do they do that? Or can you stay in the park but unable to do any rides?

Sorry for the silly question - it’s been bugging me and I can’t find an answer online 🤪

You have until official event start time to get your butt out.

There are lines of cast members at central points at that time. "Wristband please".

You won't be able to move around and go deeper into the park or get onto rides. They make sure you head to the exit more sooner than later.

They check for wristbands at the entrance to the rides, and check for wristbands at the doors to any shops or restaurants. If you’re already in line for a ride, you'll be allowed to ride. If it’s a 1 hour wait and you get in line 1 minute before you're supposed to leave, you still get to ride.

Once you get off the ride, there will be CM’s directing you towards the hub and the “sweep” begins. Every nook and cranny, every bathroom, every area open to guests will be checked/walked by a line of CM’s from various locations to ensure no non-wristband guests remain. Eventually, the sweep works its way to Main Street. They clear down Main Street and they’re done.

If you get off a ride very late after the "sweep" has already taken place, there will be CM's there waiting for you as your personal escorts out of the park.

The previous poster gives a good description of how it works, however it's not fail safe. Last year at OBB, I overheard a group of girls walking in front of us commenting about how they were amazed that they hadn't been kicked out yet. It was about 45 minutes into the party. Anytime I've attended an event, we've been repeatedly asked to show credentials for the first hour, never after that.

Thanks all, you’ve satisfied my curiosity! I imagine it can’t be completely efficient but I guess if you’ve got to show wristbands to ride or eat then there’s not a lot of point being there

They check wristbands pretty carefully 8-9 then they seem to slack off. If you hang out for an hour you can probably get away with it

Yeah, it's not foolproof. The CMs don't seem to be as intense in restricting guests out for a party as they would at the end of the day to make sure everyone is out of the park.

If you're with a group of 10 people sitting in front of the castle, 8 of you have bands, 2 don't... if a CM asks if you all have bands, if the 8 raise their hands to show the bands, a CM might not notice that two don't.

There are probably ways of hiding or giving CMs the false impression that you have bands. It's not 100% foolproof.
