What are you wearing in the evenings? Will I need a warm jacket or a light one? A hat? Gloves even? Not sure what to bring. Weather says 70 during the day, cooler (obviously) at night but still can't decide. It's cold here in Oregon and I can't seem to imagine DL being "warm".

Ha! I thought this was going to be about "evening wear", like gowns and tuxedos :)

Check the forecast right before you leave because it could vary greatly. This week it's in the mid-low 50's at night. To be honest I'm a big wimp and I like to wear Underarmour tights under my jeans, a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, and a fleece on top of that if it's cooler along with earwarmers. When you're moving around you don't notice the cold as much but when the sun goes down and you're waiting for a show it can get cooler.

Take this with a grain of salt since I'm a native So Cal'er. We like the chance to wear our winter Disney gear! You will find us with hockey jerseys, hats and gloves at night. How much I have on under the hockey jersey will depend on the temp. Sometimes just a long sleeve shirt, sometimes a long sleeve, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. We always just bring everything and put it in a locker then go back as we get colder and put more layers on. I don't like to be too bundled up so I can't move when we're there so I'd rather put more layers on than one giant winter coat. Don't forget about your feet. It's really no fun to be walking around with frozen feet.

If it's 70 during the day, it's probably mid 50's at night, that's pretty chilly to us. But we've definitely been there when it's much colder.

Thanks....I run cool at night so hats and gloves it it.

I'm in Oregon with you.

It might help to know when you will be going. We try to go off season, Oct, Jan, Feb or March.

During the day we'll wear shorts and t-shirts. Our "Evening Wear" will be jeans and a long sleeve shirt. If the shirt is short sleeves then we'll have a sweatshirt to put on.

For Jan & Feb trips we wear what we'd usually wear in June, July and August here at home. The kids even pack swimsuits, so they can swim. I'm okay with it because it's warmer there in Jan/Feb than when they go swimming here at Detroit Lake in April and May.

We have never needed coats, a sweatshirt is enough to break the chill at night.

Ha, ha, ha! I also thought this thread was about formal wear! I'm a local & I get warm easily. I like to wear thin layers so it's easier to add/peel off layers rather than have thick jackets/coats.

You have to figure, right now their nighttime low is warmer than our (Portland area) high...

I usually wear a hoodie at night...or a sweater. I have short hair, so I will bring a hat. Gloves too will be in my bag. I always have a lightweight scarf too. Just in case.

We're Canadian and when we there last month it was cool. But it was also pitch dark at 4:45 in the afternoon. As soon as the sun started lowering around 3:30 the temperature changed drastically.

But in other months you would have a lot more daylight to keep things warm. We wore, hoodies at night. It was about 56 but you're outside for hours or even sitting on the cement waiting for a parade so it feels even cooler. Not like 55 degrees and walking from the car to the store and back or pumping gas.

Flying in tomorrow. Looks like layering will be my best bet.

We've been this week and it seems humid to me so you might be surprisingly warm. We are from Monterey where the fog and ocean are cold (but still warm I'm sure to you!) and I was toasty in just a hoodie. Kids usually have to wear hoodies at home and complain of the wind there and they were happy as could be in long sleeve t-shirts during the fireworks. They refused jackets. Saw some wind but it wasn't cold.

I actually ran out last night for a rain jacket at Costco and it was too hot for me today during the downpour. I was happier in a short sleeved t-shirt and the poncho when it was raining. Have fun!

Me too, which left had me feeling really confused, because I just couldn't imagine evening wear at the parks, unless, you know, you're Mariah Carey getting married there or something!

I'm in Salem, OR, for temperature reference. In the evenings in winter and early spring, I usually need a coat. Sometimes gloves for my Jan/Feb night trips. Usually a scarf, but that's more because my coat is very V-necked, and my upper chest will get cold. During the day, I tend to be in a hoodie or long sleeve shirt under short sleeve shirt. In later spring and summer, I'm in shorts/capris and short sleeve shirts, with a hoodie (maybe) in the evenings.
