I seem to remember this from sometime in the past...did they used to sell after 4pm tickets? Do they still have anything like this?

I'm going to be TORTURED by going to Darpatech '07 at the convention center, and I have been given this choice by my non-Disney addict husband (who is learning to hold Disney over my head like it's nobody's business!!!! :sad2: ) :

A weekday December trip to Disneyland (my FAVE time of year at The Land) including a character breakfast! :santa:
or
A day during the middle of freakin' August

Having grown up in San Diego, I pretty much refuse to do any tourist attraction during the summer. Kids and hot sun and tourists are like being in hell for me. :scared:

It would be worth it to do an evening though! Plus his parents will be there. They're die hard World'ers but they dislike the Magic Kingdom and have never seen Disneyland, so a few hours of entertainment and a fireworks show would go over well!

Thanks all!

I'm not sure if they did that in the past, but they definitely don't do it now. Tix are full price, no matter what time you buy them, and my friend who works in the ticket booth says that you'd be surprised at how often people will buy a ticket for that day when it is only an hour or two before closing. Even then they still have to pay full price.

I'd go in August over December, personally. This summer has had really small crowds, and the crowds in August tend to be a bit lighter anyway than july.

I know that a lot of people would choose December though, so YMMV!

There is such a thing as a "convention twilight ticket". You should check with your dh's convention to see if they are offering them.

The gaydaysanaheim website is offering them for their convention in October and here is the description:

An ideal admission option for after meetings or events! Admission is valid for one visit to either Disneyland® park or Disney's California Adventure™ park after 4 p.m., or 4 hours before park closing, whichever is earlier, since park hours are subject to change. "Back and forth" privileges are not included.
.

The price is $34.

DangerMouse is correct. You have to get them from the convention (if they are even offering them). I've gotten them two different times from different conventions (one held at the Hilton right next to the convention center, and the other one held at the DLH).

Yes, they used to have twilight tickets. But that was in the old days when they still used ticket books (i.e., before 1980). I remember doing the twilight ticket as a kid. It is long gone now.

Hydroguy... I used a twilight ticket in Jan. 2006, and again in March of 2007.

Not available at the gate. Each time I purchased them at the check-in counter for the convention. In 4 hours we were able to ride every ride we wanted to at DL. Jan. 2006 trip - we were just a bunch of 6 rowdy adults getting scolded for raising our hands above our heads outside of the teacups, and screaming on every fast attraction. In March I had my oldest son with me, and again, we rode every attraction we wanted to. In Jan 2005, the same group of adults used twilight convention tickets to ride all the attractions in CA Adventure during the final 4 hours the park was open (of course we had to miss the final main session of the day at our convention to be able to get to CA Adventure early enough to be there for 4 hours - darn those early CA Adventure closing times). For one woman in our group, that was her first trip to CA Adventure as her 3 daughters are not fast ride fanatics.

Then I should have been more specific. The evening entrance tickets I said were gone were those for general purchase at the gate like they used to have pre-1980 sometime.
