Evening Magic Hours for Deluxe Guests Only

I feel as tho some people don't live in the real world with how they react to things Disney does. "How dare they give it to rich people and not me who budgeted my money to stay value" like I get it Disney is expensive and some folks make more than others that's life. If you want to not stay value what would your options be? Find a better job , save longer, budget better at home to afford it. This is exactly what happens with ANYTHING that costs money..

How come Jane can get that 75 in tv when im stick with this 20in.. rich people buying Tesla's is not fair I can't afford it. Now with Disney only giving this benefit to deluxe I can understand due to it used to be for everyone.. but even before covid they were killing the program. Why would they bring it back to be the same?. Also it used to be to like 3am.. if they make morning extra hours longer would folks be happy?

Tldr: work for what you want. This is how life works. If staying deluxe with a few extra park hours is worth the money or the extra time saving than do it.. but if your struggling to even afford Disney enjoy your trip a few hours outta a week is not going to ruin your families time.

You're not even remotely comparing apples to apples. Heck, you're not even comparing apples to a watermelon. Trying to compare buying a TV with Disney is pretty asnine. Those are completely different things altogether.

The issue has nothing to do with people not living in the real world. While we have always known that Disney prefers people with deep pockets, at the same time, Disney has always kept included perks on an equal playing field for ALL their guests. That means there was an innate level of equality - it didn't matter if you were making $40K or 400K, you got the exact same perks, and were to a large degree, all on the same playing field. That was part of what made Disney special, an industry leader. But they have been slowly trying to chip away at that - cutting EMH in favor of paid events for example. And now this. THAT is why people are upset. Not sure why that's so hard to understand or why it requires insulting people.

Disney should just stop with the bad PR and extend all the park hours. I can see this replacing AK at night and that's kinda lame if they keep it closed at 7 and you can only witness nighttime with the emh.. extend all hours to atleast 10 than give EMH from 10-12. Imo

To be honest if you read first comment I think they will add emh to all Disney property and forget good neighbors exist.

Nowhere in that announcement did it state that morning early entry would be only a half hour.

I wouldn't be surprised. I think the PR of this will be bad and they'll backtrack. I agree with you (? I think you said it, though admittedly I've skimmed a lot) and others that said adding the Good Neighbor hotels in was a bad idea.

I agree with this. If I can still stay in AK until 9 in October to see everything at night - no sour grapes on my part for deluxe getting EMH after that.

But if I have to leave at 6 or even 7 and like you said, the only way to experience AK at night is to stay deluxe, that blows. And I get it, perks for paying more, I just don't have to like it. (obviously if they change their mind and add Gran Destino - well then this is the best idea ever! :D)

So... would this sit better with people if Disney had said : This perk is for DVC owners only?

Wonder of this will mean that on non AK extra evening hours evenings the park will be busy as non deluxe resort guests will want to make sure they see Pandora at night?

btw, one my kids noted that last week... he said..."the park closes at 7 today? so we arent going to get to see Pandora at night? wow, that's one of the best parts about it".

Yes, it's adding another level back into my planning!

And the issue is we won't even know the October hrs until probably 2 weeks before they are even set. Then who knows when we will find out the date of the evening extended hours. Plus throw in fast pass eventually....argh. I'm going to bed. :D

I think the fact is they have to cap some of these perks to make them even worth it, or charge extra. So essentially, you’re paying for an after hours event by staying at a deluxe, it’s just built into the room cost. I totally get why people are upset, I don’t blame them. But at the same time, there’s a reason universal has their express system set up the way they do. If you offer those kind of perks to everyone, then it becomes a devalued experience because it’s crowded and you can’t do anything. I remember doing EMH a few years back and it wasn’t even worth attending because it was pretty much as crowded as the regular hours because Disney has so many rooms on property

Planning a Disney holiday shouldn't be this stressful!

so where is my discount on my room rate for taking it away from me though?

it was included before, yet now its not.

No. Some days social media can look like a toxic sewer underneath Pripyat.
there is probably an email though, and honestly if you email them, they will more than likely call you back. (not him of course but someone at disney)

I emailed about the parking fees when that hit, and i actually spoke to someone about it, thats when disney literally told me..."well, everyone else does it, so we are too now."
