Hi! :wave2:

So I'm curious to know your opinions on evening EMH. I think I may have asked already, so forgive me. In another thread, I read where several aren't happy with it. They say it's shorter and with park hours down, that makes them earlier. I know EPCOT will always be 9-11, so I'm not concerned about that one. They say the best ones are where MK closes at 11 and it goes till 1am. Even till 2am with a 12am closing. I've just never done one and I'd like to be able to say I have. The morning EMH doesn't work with my park days otherwise I'd definitely do those. It'll just be my son and I. We will have definitely used FP to its fullest, so I won't mind standing in a line or two.

So be honest please! It won't prevent me from going if bad, but perhaps just not staying the whole time. Thanks for your input! :thanks:

The poll is strictly for MK.

In my opinion, they are only worth it IF you are going to stay until the end. The later it gets, the more empty the park gets. If you're not going to stay the whole time, then the most you'll get out of it is to say you finally experienced one.

We LOVED them!!

Well at least the MK EMH when at night, we stayed during the 12AM deal and I can say it was so WORTH IT.......It was in early October and man the park was so empty, did Haunted Mansion and POC 3 times in a row and did not make us get off of them! Space Mtn & Splash Mtn walked off and walked right on, we had so much fun, would love to do that again......

We don't like evening EMH as much anymore. It's offered to too many resorts and the hours usually aren't as long as it used to be. BUT it's still fun to take advantage of them for the atmosphere alone. I wouldn't go into it expecting really short waits, though. Our most recent experiences with it haven't been great and ride waits didn't die down much. For example, last July we did evening EMH at HS and Slinky still had a 60 minute wait right at park close. We got in line and it was a full 60 minutes. It was shorter than during the day so we rode it because it was a short trip and we didn't have a FP for it. I believe the park closed at 11 or 12 that night.

Absolutely the best! But agree, best when it’s the late hours. If it was only until 10, it would be a like regular park night. But midnight-2am at mk is the best!!!! Those times are what make my trip the most memorable.

I definitely agree with you on the atmosphere part. Even if the waits aren’t as short as we would like them to be the paths are wide open especially during the last hour. One of my favorite things to do in all of Disney World is to walk around the WS at Epcot close to park closing on an emh evening. Almost nobody around at all. You feel like you own the place.

Yes! This! ::yes:: I can't wait to do that! That's one of my reasons for doing the EPCOT EMH. I think that would be a GREAT experience with my son!

The night we are there...MK is scheduled to close at 10pm. So that would be an EMH till midnight! My son says he definitely wants to give it a try especially since we get to sleep in the next day! :woohoo:

I hope we're as lucky to get to do a ride 2 or 3 times without getting off! That would be more than worth it for me and my son! :goodvibes

My daughter and I prefer the evening EMH. We prefer the atmosphere of the parks at night and the number of strollers goes down. We have started to avoid the morning EMH and rope drop due to the stampede of people.

Oh I still plan on doing RD, but we won't be joining the Mine Train herd. I have a FP for that one at 1:25 and I'm good with it. I will continue to try and move it up to the 12:45 area I'm trying to get to. EPCOT at MK....we aren't going for TT either. I know that's where about 40% head towards. I did a FP on that one so if it goes down, we'll be good. We are going to RD FEA and do standby on Soarin'. After I do those, the only other rides I really care about are Spaceship Earth and Figment. (Son wants to do that one) I also want to a FP for the Mickey character greet, but can't till I wipe out the first 3. I'm considering making that our evening FP as my sole purpose for returning in the evening is to do the Perry Missions in the World Showcases and get LOTS of character autographs! So hitting the Mickey Greet on the way through might be the way to do that! :D

When we were there in January and it was only 8-10 it wasn't worth it. We were there a couple years ago and it was until 12 and it was much more worth it.

So the park closed at 8??? :confused3 Was there a party going on? Or are the hours that reduced in January?

And thanks to everyone else who I didn't reply to and to those who did the poll!!!

:disrocks:

We did evening emh at Epcot for the first time in January and loved it. We were the last ones in world showcase and saw our first Disney cat by Morocco! We actually were ushered out by staff. I have some good pictures of the France area completely empty

Yes, the park closed at 8. Seems to be that way in January/February the last couple years.

We rarely do them anymore, especially at the MK. The first hour is a waste while off site guests filter through and even after that, it's still crowded with all the new hotels included. Epcot can be fun though.

That would be so cool to experience! pixiedust:

Well...that's kind of poopy. :worried:

I'm still gonna give it a go. If MK doesn't close till say 11pm instead of 10pm, that might make all the difference. And it seems a consensus here that EPCOT over in the World Showcases is REALLY neat to be in on an EMH night! :teeth:

Epcot is excellent, especially doing the dessert buffet. You’re led to the Frozen ride and then the walk out is empty except for those who were at the buffet. The last one we did, there was no one headed back to the international gateway- it’s one of my best memories walking back with just me and my grandson.

We are going to try both Epcot and MK evening EMH in June. I’m hope for extended park hours in June to push back the EMH.

Not sure if I am right but from what I can tell the park extended hours are now a paid event, I am not going to pay an extra $100+PP to stay till 12am, not going to happen..........

That's not completely true. MK and EPCOT have EMH on Tue and Wed nights. The paid event is on Thursday night at MK. The DAH is usually 3 hours long. So it would be till 1 or 2am depending on when the park closes.

The extended hours they speak of is an 11pm or midnight closing giving us an evening EMH till 1 or 2am.
