I am trying to plan our days for a trip Sept. 23rd-29th. What I am wondering is, how are the EVENING EMH's during the value season? Are the lines bad...everything I read says to avoid parks with EMH's but does that mean just the am hours or both? Please let me know if you have been there or know what they are like at the various parks! Thank you!!!!

We have not been to WDW in the slower seasons with the EMH.
This will bump you to the top for responses.

We went during first week of December '05 (also value season). Morning EMHs were wonderful - low crowds, and you could accomplish anything you wanted. Sometimes the crowd for that park seemed to pick up by mid-day, so we could have park-hopped, but usually we had accomplished all the big-line rides (and gotten FPs to return later when the crowds would be heavier), so it wasn't a problem. Evening EMHs... well, the only one we tried was MK, and it was mobbed!!! The morning was fine, and we accomplished a ton by lunch, but after the afternoon parade you could really see the difference. All the rides had waits of 40-50 minutes (even It's a small world was 40 minutes.. peter pan was over an hour). This was also during MVMCP, which meant that this EMH night was also one of the few nights that everyone without a MVMCP ticket could see Wishes, so that may have contributed. But I wouldn't do it again. So - morning EMH, go for it; evening EMH at MK - NOOOOO!!! This doesn't mean you have to avoid that park for the entire day, though. If you're an early riser with a park pass, you can just leave after lunch, and you'll still have accomplished quite a bit.

Just out personal experience - someone else may be able to help you out for September.

You can come and go at any time, before or during EMH.

If its too crowded, just relax and sip a cappucino or go elsewhere (although there's not much going on elsewhere anyway).

If its NOT busy, you're ready for some extra FUN. :thumbsup2

Thanks to those that replied! Camillatin your post was exactly what I was looking for...you were there during low season and did evening EMH at MK. I was debating trying it on a Sunday as well but may re-think my plans now. Thanks!

We were there in early Feb. We did MGM evening EMH and we walked on ToT and RnR. we rode each about 4 times with not waits. We got there around 8:00 p.m. It was great.

We went last November and after reading allot on the evening EMH's I decided that AK might be worth the try and it really was nice. It wasn't crowded at all. Just remember that a couple areas are closed for EMH, so what we did is get there at about 3:00 and during the parade we did Kali River Rapids. (5 times without getting off!!!). Also, the Safari closes at 5:00, so if you want to do that you should get that in too. Otherwise the whole park was really not crowded at all. I'm not sure how EE will run for EMH, but bottom line, I will do this one again.

We did evening EMH at MK on the last Sunday in January 2006. It was a beautiful evening, and we walked onto everything in Frontierland and Tomorrowland. We didn't go to Fantasyland, so I don't know about that. It was wonderful! We were there from 8-11 p.m. We also did evening EMH at AK that week, and it also was not crowded, but there isn't much open. However, it was really nice there at night.

We were there Sept. 25- Oct. 8. :)

We did evening EMH at each park during the Sept. week, and re-did Epcot & AK during the Oct. week

MK was GREAT! We rode so many rides, and many of them we were able to go right back on again. We also found a few rarer characters we were looking for. As a bonus, they previewed the Happy HalloWishes fireworks that night. We went right after dinner, and stayed until closing, and managed to ride more in that time than we did when we spent a whole day there the following week. The weather was more pleasant at night too.

AK was also nice, particularly for DD7. We spent the day there, then went for dinner at Boma, then returned until closing. The park was practically empty. Like Eeyore2003 & mrsmagic said, not everything is running, but what was had no lines. DD loves Primeval Whirl & was allowed to stay on for 6 times before we dragged her away. We went back again the Oct. week - we didn't stay as long, but the park was practically empty again. It was nice to see AK after dark.

MGM - we went over for our first night there, but can't remember when we got there. Were able to do RNRC & TOT each 4 times in a row. I know we did a few other things with no lines. We were tired, so we didn't stay very long that night.

Epcot was the only park that didn't work well for us for evening EMH. The Sept. week was very crowded, and they weren't running FP. Waits for Soarin, TT, MS were all well over an hour, so we skipped them. We did a few things, but didn't stay long. The Oct. week was even worse, so again we didn't stay.

Thank you all so much! This is exactly what I was looking for....the impression I am getting is, it may be okay to do evening EMH's in the low season. This helps me so much as I plan our days at each park! I cant believe those of you that posted who had such luck riding big rides without any waits!! How fun!
