I've seen a few posts from people at the first one which I think was Jan 2 and heard it was really crowded (as to be expected since it was still the New Year's weekend).

Any reports from someone there on the 9th which I would think would be a bit more normal.

Also - how have the crowds been the last few days now that we're coming out of Holiday season? Anyone just back?

bump again -- I would like to know the answer to this.......

We just got back today. Sunday (Jan 9th) was an MGM EMH night. I didn't go to it, but my 2 teens went. They said it was completely dead...all rides were walk ons.

MK's EMH night was the same thing. Fantasyland was probably the most crowded of all the lands, and they were still issuing Fastpasses for Pooh and Peter Pan, but the times were for like 10 minutes later. HM and Pirates were walk ons (absolutely no waiting).

AK's morning EMH is a total waste of time!!! I got up early to get there by opening and the ONLY ride open was It's Tough to be a Bug. Also that walking path was open...that's it!!! They wouldn't even open the "lands" until 8:45am to stand in line! But still, I ended up doing everything I wanted to do at AK and got finished up there by 11:15am. Everyone was PO'd!! Why bother to get to AK early if you can't even ride Dinosaur or the Safari??? There ended up being only 10 minute waits for Dinosaur, the Safari, and Kali Rapids, and we got in at the last minute for the Lion King show.

Epcot's EMH night lasted until midnight. The lands still closed at 9pm, but the big rides in Future World were open until midnight. I didn't stay for Epcot's EMH night, but the teens stayed and they said it wasn't crowded. They had to wait about 5-10 minutes for Mission Space and there was a 45 minute wait for Test Track, but they had the FastPass going so they got a FP for it.

Let me know if you need any new info.

My sister was there Jan. 2. She said it was not crowded. They managed entrance and 5 attractions in 1 1/2 hrs. with 4 small children in tow.

alicenwonder99, now that sounds like a good low season trip. Hope it's like that when I'm there this upcoming week.

Thanks for the info Alicenwonder99. great report. Exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks for me too! I'm heading down for a really quick trip to Orlando and will have one day to do parks on Sunday so we're planning on doing either Epocot or MK for half the day then head over to MGM in the evening to catch Fantasmic and hopefully do TOT and RnR a few times.

Thanks for the info!!! I am going to try to hit the nighttime things, if schedule permits!!!

alicenwonder99, at AK did they give an explanation as to why the Safari was not open early? That's crazy to get there an hour early not to have more open.

Thanks for posting this info, Mary !!! I have a Wishes cruise booked for Sun 1/30, the day we move over to BWV from HRH - when I told DS about the new EMH at MGM that night, he said he and his friend would rather spend the evening there - I've been trying to decide what to do - didn't want to go to MGM on a jam packed night and then maybe have to go back again - this way we can squeeze in a few hours at MK on check out day instead of doing EMH AM at MGM - in other words, these few hours will give us time to do one more park than we had planned on a very short trip ! :smooth:

Just got back-went Jan 5th-11th. Parks weren't crowded at all. EMH nights were great. No waits longer than 5 minutes for anything, most were no waits. The only ones that had a wait was the Fantasyland rides(Dumbo, peter pan) and space mountain right after the fireworks ended. Even those were only 10 minutes.

EMH nights at MGM were totally dead. Rode rockin roller coaster and ToT 4 times in a row. I think most people finish MGM early since it's a smaller park, so the EMH nights were great, no one there.

MK late nights had no waits, we even closed the park. It was so cool to walk through adventureland and literally be the only ones there.

It's a great time of the year to go, but don't tell anyone else!

TBELLA-Isn't this upcoming weekend MLK holiday? If so, don't expect the low crowds. Heard that the place is packed then

Hi, our arrival was January 9, so that was the first EMH we went to, not a sole there!! It was actually a bit desolate! Walk on every thing....gotta love it!! We have pretty much timed everything perfect so far and have continued to walk right on everything all week...and we still have a week left..YAHOO!!! :cool1:

so, is it safe to say that evening emh did not effect the daytime attendance?
