Hello everyone,
Time for some more silly questions some of you may know the answers to...

What time of night is it likely to get dark in october?, i'm guessing it must be before 9pm as the fireworks are scheduled then. Thinking in regards to what to pack would a cardi keep u warm enough or would a jacket be better or will it be warm enough to go without?

Is the tap water ok to drink or do most people buy bottled

Looking forward to your answers, Rachaelx

Florida gets dark earlier than you might expect as its quite far south. Even in mid summer its usually full dark by 8.30pm. In October I seem to remember 7pm was dark. The sun sets very quickly as well, there isnt much of an "evening" or twilight as we have here. In late November it was full dark at 6pm, which was later than home...Im not entirely sure how all these planetary movements work!! The fireworks are sometimes at 7pm in winter, but on weekends, they are still 9 or 10pm, even 11pm during busy times (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas). We have never been cold in October, even at night. Still a very balmy 70 degrees or so. Never needed sweaters at that time of year. If you are going late Oct, you MAY need a very light cardy, but personally, we have never experienced any cold weather at that time of year.

We were advised not to drink the tap water purely because it tastes horrible (it does!), also no matter how long you run the tap, it never runs cold, so I always think its prone to bugs. Bottled water is very very cheap in the supermarkets, we always buy our supplies here, including "sports top" bottles for the parks.

October is a great time to go :) I tend to have a light cardi for some evenings, although it was never that cold.

We tend to buy bottled water :)

We were told by friends from NY to take "jog pants" and a sweat top for the evenings in October as it got chilly!! Well what was chilly to them wasn't chilly to us. We were warm enough to walk around in shorts and t'shirts even at midnight! But if you suffer the cold, then a light cardi/jacket will probably be ok.

When we went in October 2000 it was definitely dark at 7.00 pm as I remember coming out of Seaworld at closing time of 7pm and it was pitch black. It only got cooler late in the evening, not early evening. We were alway OK up to about 9.30, nut after that it was a little nippy, but not freezing.

this one made me laugh....not the question, but the answers...
i live in the mideast and i found it chilly in the summer in orlando...only the summer humidity is annoying....

but for brits i would assume it feels rather warm year round in orlando....
for us, i always carry sweatshirts in my backpack for when we're indoors, where the a/c is run so hard you feel like you must be in antarctica.....but that's us......
