JB finally did it. They upped the Even More seats $10 from BDL to MCO. We've always shelled out the extra $30 figuring we were on vacation. Early boarding, early access to the overhead bins, expedited security in MCO, and the extra legroom was heavenly.

$40 was my breaking point. All good things must come to an end.

That extra leg room is heavenly. I wonder if they changed the price from PVD too? I thought $30 was a lot & I'll only pay it if I'm flying solo. I won't pay $40.


Edit: Well I just answered my own question. I pulled up our Dec. flight from MCO to PVD & sure enough Even More Space seats are now $40. That's a bummer.

Edit: Well I just answered my own question. I pulled up our Dec. flight from MCO to PVD & sure enough Even More Space seats are now $40. That's a bummer.

At least you've got the Dec flight already booked! We just returned and the expedited security lane was a godsend at MCO.
I just booked new flights for the spring without the EM seats. In my head I'm trying to justify purchasing them, but I just can't come up with a good enough excuse.

It's just not worth it anymore. Wonder what it's going to cost me to get the extra leg room for dh (6'4'') for our flight from Boston to San Diego next Dec?? Geez...it's getting out of control.

Delta charges based on length of flight. When I went to California in August, it was $69 LAX-DTW.

That's ridiculous! Boston is not that far from Hartford. And by jet it's only 10 minutes!
Every JB flight we've been on there has always been empty seats. Three weeks ago, there were 5 or 6 empty EM seats on the way to MCO and on the return there were 8 empty seats. The regular seats were sold out or so they announced.
If they aren't consistently selling out the Even More seats, why on earth raise the price?

Just because your flights aren't sold out, doesn't mean others are not.

Obviously they are raising the price for more revenue.

And every JB flight I've been on has been packed to the gills. Supply and demand. If ppl will pay they will continue to raise the price. Kinda like WDW TKTS and hotel rates... Up up up every year.

I flew JB a week ago...to Orlando from Boston. Both flights were almost full. The flight home may have had one or two seats that were open, but not more than that. The flight down was full. They were taking standby people for both flights..so there were empty seats to begin with but they filled them.

We are heading to Tampa in 2.5 weeks. 5 teams from DS's soccer club are heading to their National Championships for the 1st weekend in December. I suspect that the last 2 JetBlue non-stops out of Boston on that Wednesday are going to be packed to the gills with soccer players and their families (fair warning!). Our flight is still showing about 20 seats open, but more than half of them are Even More seats.

We'll see how it is when we get to the airport. DH & I are flying out mid-day. DS is coming later with another family from the team so he does not miss a 4th day of school.

You asked why they were raising prices. I didn't realize you were asking a rhetorical question.
