Even Miracles Take A Little Time; a PTR 5 years in the making. NEW! Nov. 2 - Single Digits!

Day 2 plans!
I'm 44 days away today. Very exciting! I've completed my ADRs, customized my Magic Bands, booked Fastpass+, and did online check-in. It's starting to feel like there's nothing left to do but wait!
Day 2 is the first full day. The first time waking up in the Boardwalk!

We are spending the whole day in Epcot. We'd like to hit RD at the IG (YAY!) and head to France for something yummy for breakfast.

We're going to head straight for Test Track and ride standby. We have no other real major plans, but want to hit all the Future World rides.

Our fastpass+ selections look like this:

[Fastpass+

3:45 - 4:45: Mission: SPACE
6:45 - 7:45: Spaceship Earth
8:40 - 8:55: IllumiNations]

I'm excited to try out the IllumiNations one. I'm assuming that return time means 8:40 is as early as I can get in? I haven't done a fireworks FP+ yet. Or should I still plan to be there before that?

We have an early meal.

[4:45pm: Nine Dragons Restaurant]

A new restaurant for us! We're excited to try it.

I want to see some of the Food and Wine offerings during the day, and if I can, take in the Eat to the Beat concert. Hanson is playing.

200_s.gif

Yeah. I was a hard-core Hanson fan when I was 11. I swore to my little pre-adolescent self that I would (A) marry Zac Hanson, and (B) see them in concert. (A) has been scratched, so we're going with (B).

So that's about it! After IllumiNations it's going to be especially awesome to just walk back to the hotel.

Day 3, Nov. 13

We're going to get up early and head to

298185_10150327067477989_1452751205_n.jpg

for some early magic hours! I was hoping to get a really early FP+ for the safari, but couldn't get it, so we're just going to run straight there and wait standby instead. I love going first thing in the morning when the animals are just starting to get up and get moving.

Depending on the wait time for that, we might run to Expedition Everest. Hoping for time to do both!

At 9:45 we have a new experience for us -- Tusker House breakfast! We've done dinner here, but not the breakfast. I'm pretty excited for that.

After breakfast our FP+ start. Here's what we have:

[Fastpass +

11:00 - 12:00 -- Kilimanjaro Safaris
12:5- - 1:50 -- Expedition Everest
2:30 - 2:50 -- Festival of the Lion King]

Depending on how the morning goes (if we get a good safari, if we get on EE) I might change those two FP+, but for now I'll leave them as they are. We're always up for riding either one twice!

We also want to get on Dinosaur, *maybe* Kali, depending on the weather, walk the trails and see the animals (both of us will be taking the good cameras and longer lenses for this day!)

We hope to close the park, depending on how we're feeling. Shouldn't be too bad since the park closes at 6.

We're going to take a bus back to Animal Kingdom Lodge for our dinner ADR:

[ADR: 7:35 PM -- Boma - Flavors of Africa]

Yum! I've eaten breakfast there many times, and once we ate dinner there but I was coming down with a really bad flu and didn't manage to eat anything. I can't wait for zebra domes, and we're planning to walk over to The Mara to grab some to go too!

After that, we'll get a bus back to Epcot which is open until 10, and then walk back to our hotel. (Have you noticed I say that a lot? Epcot? Walk to hotel? I'll have you sick of those words. I'm just so excited!)

Your plans look great!! BTW: You go ahead and keep telling us how you will be walking from your resort to Epcot...LOVE IT!!

Sounds like a nice and relatively relaxing day at EPCOT - I love just grazing the Food & Wine booths.

We did the Illuminations FP+ last trip (we actually got that as a 4th FP+ option after using our first three) and it worked out really well. It's just nice to be able to show up not long before the show starts and have a great view and the area wasn't overly crowded so felt like you had some room to breath. One thing, some of the fire effects are pretty close to it got "warm" at times.

I actually always liked Hanson and think that in some ways "mmmmbop" was bad for them as they got labeled as a 1-hit wonder even though some of the other songs really show how talented they are musically

We love the Tusker House breakfast - lots of variety and good character interaction - though disappointed that they no longer have Donald out for the picture before the meal (he just comes around to the tables)

oh my YUM!!! your going to have a blast! We love and adore Tusker house!!! Can't wait for you to try it!

Yes run to the safari! i hope the animals are roaming for you!!!

We love staying at Beach Club because of how close it is to Epcot and yes, we did find that we were in Epcot a whole lot more on those trips! Your day at Epcot sounds great. I think you could get to your Illuminations fast pass a little before that time (10 - 20 minutes early) if you want and maybe being in the front of the fastpass line will allow you to choose your spot. We go a little early to our Wishes Fastpass often in order to get a better spot on the ground.

Your Animal Kingdom day sounds great! We are trying Tusker House breakfast on this trip for the first time as well. I'm sure we will love it as we are breakfast people! However, you can keep the zebra domes. Those are the worst dessert at Disney! lol.....I had heard so much talk about them that on our trip where we stayed at AKL, I went down to get a pack one evening for dessert. I was so excited to try them out. Out of the pack my entire family managed to eat two.....just two.....we had to throw the rest away. :crazy2:

Have a great week!

I can tell that you will really enjoy being so close to Epcot. ;) This will be very different from your offsite stay. :)

I probably will, I will give lots of fair warning now about the TR though!

Me too, it took a while to get hubby into it (I don't know why, but all he could see were the line ups!) but now it's just a relaxing way to do World Showcase. And snack.

I love the sound of that, especially the "not overly crowded" part! Will remember about the fire effects. :thumbsup2

You've got a point! I loved Mmmbop at the time, but they did have some good songs. Im interested to hear them so many years later.

I didn't realize they had changed it, but now that you say that, I remember a few years ago when my cousin went, he was still outside.

I loved Tusker House dinner, I love Boma breakfast (which I've read is similar) and the characters are a really fun bonus, so I'm excited to try it!
Ahhh I've had some really good luck in the mornings, I caught the male lion up roaring one time. I sometimes say that I've already used up my entire lifetime supply of safari luck, but we'll see!

With all the resort hopping that we did so far this year, my one goal was to get back into the Epcot area. Epcot is our favourite park, so spending more time there just sounds amazing!
I will probably show up a little early to the fastpasses for the shows, just because that's how I am!

I think I remember that story... Ohhh we just love them so much!

Have a great week!
You too! And (now that it's Friday) a great weekend!

I can tell that you will really enjoy being so close to Epcot. ;) This will be very different from your offsite stay. :)
My goodness I'm counting on that! :rotfl: Staying on a bench behind the dumpsters at Downtown Disney or sharing a swamp with a gator would probably be better than my offsite stay. :rotfl2:
In all seriousness though, I hope I'm not building this all up in my head too much, but I can't honestly see it being a let down no matter what I do!
:jumping1:

So... hi again. I'm sorry again. I guess the Dis has fallen off my priority list a little.

If there are any of you who would like to be Facebook friends, give me a shout! I'll be posting a little of my trip as I go along!

Or, if you're not all about Facebook and would like to follow me on Instagram, hit me up @teekathepony.

There haven't been any more resort changes! That means I'm still at the Boardwalk! Saturday I read through the Boardwalk FAQ thread here on the Dis and wrote down all relavent information, like transportation options, quick service locations, and where to get my mug refilled. I had a look at a map of the place and actually paid attention to it for the first time! lol

I still can't believe I get to stay here:

Yesterday we did some serious packing.

tumblr_n66brffd6F1sewiyco1_400.gif

Everything we do not need between now and then went into the suitcase. It's weird packing whatever I want... we've always travelled ultra-light, sharing a suitcase. This year, Johnny has a card (being an army vet.) that allows him and his spouse (that's me!) to travel with three 70-lb suitcases EACH! Holy crow that's a lot! We're NOT taking that many suitcases, but we are taking one each, and a collapsable one for on the way home. It's nice not having to worry, (and not having to pay extra) especially for our 11 days!

We also shuffled some last minute ADRs this weekend. We cancelled our 1900 Park Fare a while back because the new menu just does not appeal to either one of us at all. We booked a Whispering Canyon breakfast, but we didn't really want to keep it. We changed instead to Captain's Grille breakfast, much closer!

Finally, I'm very happy to say that today I am doing the...

SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Yay Wendy! I finally started my trip report a few weeks ago. We are going back in 74 days with the parents. So glad you get to go in less than 10 days!

Whoo hoo for single digits! I just read straight thru your report. All these people going in November! I need to win the lottery tonight so I can go play down there with everyone!

What a whirlwind on the resorts! I have stayed at a lot of Disney Resorts (many different levels), but the one thing I have not done is stayed at ANY Epcot area resort. I so want to do that one day. To be able to head straight to Epcot or HS without having to wait on transportation! Glorious!

So glad you got your ADRs like you want them.

I am sure you folks will have a fun time!

Lynn

Wooooo! Best kind of dance ever!!!! And I think Boardwalk is going to be amazing and wonderful!

I think changing to the captains grille is a good way to go. Nice to have an ADR that's closer to your resort that doesn't require bus transportation and is just a nice stroll away.

Following you on IG. I'm bloogoblin :jumping3:

You're so close!

:jumping1:

Good luck with the rest of your preparations, and in case I don't see you again before you go, have an awesome trip!!! Enjoy the Boardwalk!
