Hi everyone! I am new to doing this and I am not sure I am doing it correctly but I figured everyone will guide me in the right direction as I learn. :) We've been planning this wedding for almost 2 years now, with a year to go!

How we met:

Phil and I met in 2009 via eHarmony.com. We communicated for many weeks before actually meeting in person and it was magical when we finally met. Neither of us do the bar scene and felt that, in our place in life, we wanted to be matched with someone of the same values/morals/ etc and eHarmony seemed a good meeting point. I was nervous to use an electronic medium but it turned out to work great for us! Here is us on our first date:

About us:

Phil works for Boeing and the International Space Station in Huntsville, AL and I am currently a full time graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology. We have a newly built house that we've been nesting in, and we own a cat named Zebediah and a pug named Mia.

The Engagement:

Phil and I took our first trip to Orlando, FL in May of 2010 so we could vacation for a week and also see in person the Disney Vacation Club resorts (we bought in at Bay Lake Tower, love it!). I knew Phil wanted to propose during the trip and had the ring, but not when it was so the whole time I was on pins and needles! He even dropped to one knee to "tie his shoelaces" a few times to fake me out which was adorable and aggravating at the same time!

We had reservations to dine at the castle for Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner and he proposed there. At dessert, the waiter brought out a plate covered in rose petals with a glass slipper in the middle, and the ring was inside the slipper, which was engraved with "will you marry me?"

I was confused at first because my first thought was... "I ordered cheesecake, I can't eat this..." and then I realized what it was! So funny.

He just slid it on my finger, he couldn't even speak he was about to tear up and cry, but no words were needed.

So romantic! :) We've been planning a Disney wedding ever since!

The Dress:

The dress came from a cotillion shop in south Texas, to my knowledge it has no designer tag or anything... I just saw it and loved it. I wanted to keep it fairy tale-like and just felt like, for me, white just wouldn't cut it. It needs some hemming, but not much.

The Petticoat

My future mother-in-law put this awesome petticoat together, after I described to her what I was hoping for. I just wanted a pop of color to appear under the dress so we went with my main wedding colors, hot pink and orange. I am hoping to have some fun with this surprise during photo shoots!

WOW I love that necklace, it's fantastic!! Did you do your own hair on the day you got engaged? It's very cute! Congratulations!

Singastory, thanks! My mom found that necklace and it's perfect for the color palate I want to use for the wedding colors.

I did do my own hair, it was a LOT longer then (it's now shoulder-length in a bob) and I just curled it and then bobby-pinned it up into ringlets. The tiara came later, when I decided at the park I wanted to have one, just like all the little girls.

I guess I missed your PJ before. I was reading your struggle about changing venues on the GF thread. I just wanted to say I love all your stuff. I really like your colors and your dress. Oh, and your shoes! All so fun!

Thank you so much for the compliments! I have had such a struggle with having a turquoise dress... you would think I was walking down the aisle naked! I have had so many people really question me about not wearing a white dress, but for me, since we are having a Fairytale Wedding, I wanted something a little unconventional. So your comments and compliments are welcomed! :)

Some things have happened so I have modified some of the pics to show the progress made!

We now have a hot pink and orange petticoat, a new wedding ring set, and some bouquet pics from etsy seller Noaki! I have updated the photos to include these new exciting changes!

We meet our Disney planner in a few weeks, so I am sure I will have more to share then! ^.^

Hello, fellow May DIS bride! :)

I don't know how I didn't see this post before, but I'm glad you posted the link on the facebook page.

First, I love your dog. She's adorable and I love how it looks like she's smiling for the picture. (Pugs are one of my favorite small breed of dogs)

Your tattoos are GORGEOUS. I love birds, and all of yours are works of art.

I LOVE the dress you chose. The color is stunning on you. We wound up with peacock colors kind of as an accident (I had the blue and needed to find something that would match Doug's tie :lmao:), so I can't wait to see what else you put together. :)

THANK YOU, gypsy! What sweet comments and compliments! Might I ask, or you can PM me, who you are on the FB page? I would love to "meet" you there as well!

Wow, first off congratulations on the engagement. That was such a great story and how he proposed was so romantic. Wow! I LOVE your dress, the color and the detail is beautiful.
