Is there food that can be bought at a cafe or similiar before your board the train in your car to go in the tunnel ?

We are on an early train (5.48am) and I wondered if the cafes/stands are open at that time

There are shops and food outlets at the Eurotunnel terminal. I imagine they will be open when the tunnel is open :)

They aren't open in the middle of the night. Just the loos, it seemed.

Wonder what thy class "the middle of the night" as ... have emailed them to find out and will ofc post here once I know.

Found this blog that although a few years ago at least says the coffee shop is open :)

i would pack something from home just to be sure, there are coffee vending machines located in the termianl building and were you que to get on if you just miss a train!

I know for a fact that Burger King doesn't open till about 10am, which is a bit silly. I will ask my uncle what is open around that time in the morning as her works at Eurotunnel.

Our train was at 6.30 am, and we were there about 5.45, and there was stuff open then. Plenty of people about too. BUT we were there on a Monday morning, and although they told us to wait in the terminal, it turned out there was reduced capacity on the train because of engineering works at the weekend and although we joined the queue when we were called we did not get on that train. Even more annoying, they didn't tell anyone, so cars were left just sitting there and eventually people got out and asked what was happening and the story filtered back. Officially however we weren't told anything just left to sit there until the next train at 7.30.
So the moral of this rather long story is that I'd be wary of hanging round long in the terminal especially if travelling on a Monday.

I just looked on the official website and it said that the breakfast place opens at 5am so you will be able to get breakfast before you travel.

I am also warym of hanging around the terminal - our friends decided to eat a cooked breakfast (so of course everyone else joined in :lmao: ) but because there are so many items its quite slow service, and we'd barely finished before we were called. I tend to pack stuff - take some drinks, cereal bars/rolls (whatever you fancy) then eat on the other side - we drive to Auchan to stock up on a few essentials :drinking: ;) and they have several places to eat which are open fairly early.:thumbsup2

Brilliant - thanks very much for that.

We shall take some breakfast things with us - but when you are up so early a nice bacon buttie works wonders ! :goodvibes

You have to be careful if you go before you are called as they will just send you back. I'm fortunate as if there is a problem when we travel I can just call my uncle if he isn't working to find out what is going on.
