Hi all

Just had a look at our Eurostar tickets and we aren't sitting together. It's my husband and our 8 year old & our 7 year old. I figured we might be sitting two in part and the other two in another so that way each parent could have a child, but nope. Is that common for parents & children not to be seated together? Is it something I should worry about? My younger DD is the size of a 4 year old and is visually impaired. I really don't want the kids -- esp my younger DD -- sitting with strangers. Any ideas -- Thanks
Lauren

I saved this 'seating plan' link which I got from here a while ago - http://www.directline-citybreaks.co.uk/Eurostar Seating Plan Coach 11

Maybe you're sitting opposite each other (the seats with a table), so the numbers are not sequential?

Edited to say: Oops, sounds like you've already checked it out (sorry, should read properly next time). I guess the only thing you can do is to ask the other person if you could swap around.

Hi

We saw families in the same situation last month but so many other people are willing and happy to change their seats so I'm sure you can work something out on the day if you're unable to change seating before hand.

hello,

when we went on the eurostar despite my wife and I requesting a table for 2 on the phone they split us up so 1 was at a table of 4 and the other was at a table for 2.

What was really strange was they had also split a family of 4 up - so 1 was at my wife's table and the 3 remaining members of their family were at the table I was at. Naturally they were more than happy to swap.

Seemed strange!

When we last travelled a family were talking to the train manager who was organising to re seat them all as they were to be scattered in our carriage but they ended up being seated together in another carriage, I think if you can't get anything sorted before hand then you can speak to the train manager on the day.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but you don't get allocated a seat for a specific person. You get allocated the same numbers of seats as there are people in your party and as long as you sit in those seats it doesn't matter who sits where. So there's no reason at all why you can't sit with a child each.

I think what she meant was that they've been allocated seats which are not even next to each other, so they're not even paired up at the very least - ie one adult with one child next to each other. It does happen (from reading these boards) and more often than not, other passengers are willing to swap seats so that the child will be able to sit next to his/her parent instead of with a stranger.

travelling back yday we had 2 seats together 11 and 12

then 44 and 48 i think ,(opposite on a table of 4)

a lovely couple at the table of 4 offered to swap ,so all 4 of us ended up together

think they took one look at my youngest, and knew they wouldnt get any peace for the journey home :rotfl:
