I know, I know, it didn't take me very long to start wondering if we could afford another trip. :rotfl2:

I am seriously considering stretching our finances and going again in January 2010. In October 2010, DD will be 3, so I need to get a trip in before we have to book two rooms.

What is the cheapest price for Eurostar you have ever got? We would be: 2 adults, 1 ten year old, 1 five year old and a two year old.

We would be travelling down from the Midlands, so which station would I travel from?

We have flown from BHX both times, but I was wondering if it would be cheaper on the Eurostar.:confused3

sorry I cant answer Joolz as we've never gone by Eurostar but I knew it wouldnt be long before you were planning. You've got the bug

Joolz ticket for January Eurostar go on sale over the phone at the end of May so best bet is to ring up as soon as Disney release January 2010 dates (thats what im doing lol)

Adult tickets usually are £65 (being the cheapest) not sure on kids prices but untill they are 4 they can travel on your lap. I think after that they are about £25 and upwards.

I believe the cheapest prices you can get on Eurostar from London St Pancras (which is where you would travel to on the train anyway from the Midlands) is around £60 return each. To get those prices, you would have to book pretty soon after the fares are released.

I looked into doing this for our next trip, but as my local airport is only 20 minutes drive from me, and I got my flights for £50 each return, I'm flying to CDG again :goodvibes

Morning, Eurostar woul leave from St Pancras, dont know where your coming from but you would probably come in to Marylebone or Euston.

3 Nights, 4 Days for an 8, 3 and 10 month old at Santa Fe with Eurostar Disney direct was £480. Direct through Disney. Dont know how that breaks down though, Sorry.

hi, we booked in august 08 for our jan 09 trip directly with eurostar. For 2 adults and 2 children (you wouldn't pay for under 4's) came to £270 rtn. that was going from ashford, so not sure how much it would change, if at all, from st pancras. On the phone, the lady at eurostar told us that the prices were the lowest possible for the direct train.

It is possible to get tickets on he direct train for as low as £59 return for adults and £44 for children. We have got this price our trip at the end of the month and have also been upgraded to Leisure Select seats on the outward journey for free.
However, I think they may only make tickets available at this price for bookings made during the last couple of months before travel and then only on certain dates - presumably days when booking levels are low. Booked this trip in early December and also got the same price for a trip last June which was booked late. I have not been able to get these prices when booking several months in advance but it is a saving when making late bookings as long as you can be flexible with your travel dates.

I disagree i have always got cheapest priced tickets the day tickets are released for the days i want to travel.

Only speaking from my own experience but then I'm not organized enough to book 8 or 9 months in advance, I have enough problems working out what's happening tomorrow let alone next October or whenever. Earliest I have booked is 5 months before trip.

£200 for 4, direct to DLRP sounds good to me. Perhaps it would be worth checking prices from release date right through to last minute to secure the best price.

Has anyone booked through Mr Tesco and his clubcard deals? I saw that it was £31 in vouchers for 1 ticket.

Tesco Clubcard don't do tickets for Eurostar - you would have to change your CC vouchers into Airmiles and then convert those to Eurostar tickets.

Or something like that!

Sounds complicated.

You'll need to factor in your journey down to St Pancras as well - I know when I was considering it, the cost of the train (even booking months in advance) from Nottingham to St Pancras added about £40 and upwards onto my travel costs.

Probably cheaper to fly. The deal we got with Disney worked out at about £300 extra for transportation - I couldn't do it separately any cheaper.

Have you not considered driving Joolz and going through the tunnel

Lots of people don't realise that a few of the Midland and northern train companies have a deal with Eurostar meaning you travel to St Pancras for peanuts.

Go to the Eurostar website, and where it asks where travelling from, don't click St Pancras, click on more, and see if any of the stations listed are nearby for you. It saves the rip off uk train companies fares to London.
