Thought I'd start a new thread instead of taking Torres Fan thread OT

If you have recently booked Eurostar tickets direct with Eurostar, do you mind telling me how much you paid?

I booked for 1 adult 1 youth, travelling out on 26 October, back on 29 October and the price was £270.

Other people seem to have got them so much cheaper:sad2:. I know this is half term week and expected a bit of a price jump, but it seems a MASSIVE hike.

:scared1: Gosh that does seem an awful lot.

For my May trip we are going indirect from Ebbsfleet(Kent)
To travel direct from Ashford the price was £430 for 1 adult and 1 youth

I paid £118 for both of us and we change at Lille for the TGV. I know it may be a bit more of a hassle but when i am saving a massive £312 i really don't mind.

We are travelling in June from Ashford, and we are paying £200 for 2 Adults , our DD is 2 , and travels for free on our lap.

I paid £172 for myself and a child seat for Kyra...yes she should travel for free but i want her to have her own seat.

Bearing in mind i got the same seats last year for the same week at the same time i booked and my ticket was £65 return. I was shocked that on the day of release my ticket itself around £85.

I enquired recently for some friends but this was for 2 adults and 1 youth from Ashford.

Quotes ranged from £255 to £320 - depending on which day they travelled - Monday was most expensive, Thurs and Fri departure were cheapest. These were for June.

Booked last month for trip in early May. Paid £172 for 2 adults and 1 youth from St Pancras. Travelling out indirect via Lille and back on direct train. It was over £100 more to travel out direct.

I think it does vary like airlines, also if your 26 or under then you qualify for a youth fare which is usually cheaper then adult fares. I certainly miss that now i'm 27.

That's what I thought, but the fare I was quoted was £135 each. No cheaper fare for the 12 year old. :sad2:
I have also booked tickets for November - 3 adults and 1 youth. Once again the tickets were all the same price, no reduction for the youth. :confused3

It seems, just from this small straw poll, that prices vary a HECK of a lot.

We have booked for November also. Ashford to Disney direct. Booked on day of release and paid £296.00 for 2 adults and 2 children. Apparently all the cheaper fares were sold out within hours!!

It seems exactly that. When we went in March we paid £118 for 2 youths and that was well after they came on sale. This time round, booked really early and they have worked out more expensive. I dont really get how a youth can be the same price as an adult either.....whats the point in having a youth fare if its no cheaper.......? :confused3

I dont mind so much because we are 22 at the end of the day and expect to pay adult, but a bit unfair if you have teenagers.

I think the youth fares only apply if you want to purchase a single...

A quick experiment for a return (outbound 1st May, inbound 8th May) has them at the same cost for youth and adult (£45 and £67.50 for out and in respectively).

a single on the other hand is £75 for the youth, but £104 for the adult.

Why you only get youth discounts on singles, Ill never know, but that's been the case when I've looked at this before as well :confused3

The return youth fare we have paid for our May trip is cheaper than the adult one £54 against £59 for the adult. However the difference is on the outward part of the journey which is indirect. Fare for the direct return is the same. We have had savings on youth returns in the past but cannot remember if this was on Eurostar to Disney or to Gare du Nord.

I booked 2 adults and 1 child a couple of weeks ago, going out 28th Sept, return on 30th Sept from Ashford - £191, (£65 per adult and £56 for the child plus the booking fee by phone).

We had looked at going a week or 2 earlier but the prices went up for the earlier dates within a couple of days, think the cheapest adult fare for the previous Monday was £72 when I rang and finally booked.

Decided to have a seat for GD although she'll only be 22 months when we go as she's such a wriggler we thought it best to have more room lol, we managed to get 3 seats at a table in standard:thumbsup2

Booked 3 days ago 2 adults 28th Sept - 2nd October £65.00 each :goodvibes

Hmmm, almost makes me want to forget that my daughter turns 12 in August. Everything suddenly becomes so much more expensive.:scared:

Only kidding - I wouldn't really try to cheat, but it is tempting.

We have exactly the same price for our trip in July. We booked up March the 11th and am travelling out on the 16th July returning on the 21st July. but to travel out on the 20th (as originally planned as the kids were off school completely) would have cost us £117 per adult and £75 for my four year old!! Hence we changed out dates.

I'm a bit miffed really as son will be a teenager, and dad a senior citizen but even though ES ask specifics, they are the same price! :confused3 what gives?!

Wow, that is a lot you paid. For our trip in July we paid £274 (the price was £269 online but I booked over the phone because I wanted the family area) and that was for 2 adult and 2 kids. Just like Emma, I also bought a seat for Anya, it makes life easier esp since we'll be going in the middle of July when kids are on holiday/

We just booked for 3 adults and 3 kids in August for £444, about £75 each. It is a live booking system so the more seats they sell, the more the price goes up.

Is there a special family area? When we booked online, I just selected a carriage and 4 seats round a table. Wasn't aware that there was any specific areas which might have been more suitable. I can still change my seats online....should I have chosen a particular carriage???

carriage 18 and i think 17 is the family carriage. Well thats what Eurostar told me when i sat in that area before.
