Hello

I've booked to visit DLP from 18th - 22nd June. We're staying in Explorers but don't have the luggage service as I booked seperatly. 2 Adults, 1 child and 1 teen.
We're going on Eurostar from Ashford and need to stay overnight going and coming home, we're traveling from South Wales.

Does anyone know the best place to stay?
Also, any tips? eg, parking, breakfast, luggage when we get there? etc

Thanks, this board is great!

Hi dlprees and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

I'm sure the Eurostar experts will check in later with lots of help and advice regarding this mode of travel.

Is it accomodation on the UK near Ashford that you are looking for ?

Hi dlprees and welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

Don't worry about not having the Express Luggage service, just take a no. 54 pink bus from outside the train station to the Explorers. If your room isn't ready (it usually is :goodvibes ) they have a left luggage room.

We always catch the Eurostar at Waterloo but I am sure other posters have stayed at the Holiday Inn at Ashford.

Hi there,
The first time we travelled by Eurostar, we stayed at the Travelodge and left the car at Ashford International, 5-10 minutes away It worked out very well although I did find the drive back home too much, after a long day in the park and with the extra hour. DH doesn't drive.
Hence, the second time I decided to book a B&B to stay at the night before and the night of our return and where I could leave the car for the duration and book taxis to and from the station. This cost the same as the above and I would let you have the number but I will prewarn you that it was like Fawlty Towers with an Italian host - he did everything, whilst his wife wandered aimlessly around looking very beautiful. If I had booked the "Hotel" for a week I would've cried, as it was one night we laughed about it, we did end up staying there on the way back, but my sister was sure something tried to eat her during the night.
Perhaps, I had better let you have the hotel name as one to definately avoid :rotfl:
If we go Eurostar again I'll stick with Travelodge or Holiday Inn!:)

So, it's the travelodge or travel inn, thanks for the info, I think I'll avoid the b&b though!!

On the last day when we leave the hotel we want to spend a day in the parks before jumping back on the eurostar, is there anywhere nearby where we can leave the luggage or do we have to go back to the hotel?

We use Guest Storage to the right of the entrance of the Disneyland Park. It costs 2.50 euros per item. Alternatively there are large lockers at the train station, I think they are 9 euros each. :)
