Just called with Disney and I got the AAA discount without any problem.
Just saved 300 dollars

That also answers the question of the rates work for fans outside the USA.

Yes yes yes :thumbsup2

Fans outside the USA? You're supposed to be a member of the American Automobile Association to receive a discount.

hi
Im from Australia and I also asked if we could get the discounts and Disney said NO, did you book through AAA or through Disney?
NRMA(National roads and motoring association) is also affiliated with AAA

You have me very excited, I might try and call AAA in the US and ask
Do they have a direct number for travel enquiries?

Thanks

Through Disney direct.
I just asked and then the nice lady looked first in a list.
Finally she said yes and I just had to give my own Dutch cardnumber.

I don`t know if this rate if for every room ore resort?

Maby the other members here can help you.
I`m very pleased ,you can understand and I keep my fingers cossed for you.

Hope you get the same answer. Good luck.

It should be no different than the CAA in Canada. It's accepted anywhere that AAA is. I do find the CMs at Disney Reservation hit-or-miss on their knowledge of AAA or any of its affiliates. I actually once got a CM who thought they didn't have AAA discounts at all :confused3

Just to add: I was having trouble finding a discounted room with the CM I was talking to. I hung up and called a local agency - any agency can book AAA-discounted room-only rates for you, just not packages. Discounted packages have to be booked directly with AAA (or your affiliate office).

Thanks sjaakie and amw,

I have just got off the phone from Disney and YES we can get the discount:banana:

But we can only book room only not a package and so we can't add the dining plan, :sad2: but I'm going to save $300 so it may be worth it.

i'm so excited it is so good to save some money, especially when our dollar dropped this week against the USD:eek:

thanks everyone:flower3:

Glad it worked for you :thumbsup2 The good thing about the room-only is that should a package deal come out that'll save you over $300, then you can always switch that room ressie to a package. At least now you're guaranteed a room.

If you really want the dining plan, you can go to your local AAA-affiliate travel office. They can book you the package with a discount. It would be the cost of package with the room discount included. However, you are then locked into that pacakge. I prefer to wait and see what Disney has to offer.
