European Style Butter

What is the difference between European Style Butter, like Plugra, and regular old Land o Lakes? Aside from the Plugra being salt-free, I didn't notice much of a difference in texture or cookability.

Just curious... anyone know? Or, is it just the price?
 
I believe it's the fat/water ratio that makes the difference. Brands like Plugra have a higher fat VS water ratio and a creamer texture. Professional bakers often use it in their products.
