I spent two semesters in Limburg during college... By far my two best semesters of college. I made some great friends and go back to visit once or twice a year. The Netherlands is my second home, and if I'm not going to Disney, then I'm likely heading over there.
That museum in Amsterdam, is it the one with Marylin Monroe inside?
Well, I don't remember if Marilyn was inside or not...just remember Mom plunking down a guilder for a peep show...just to see what all the fuss was about...roflol
Fromeurope...I'd be there in a heartbeat if you offered..so you'd better not! Do you actually live in Amsterdam?
I can say that some of my best memories come from the year I spent living in the Netherlands!

I was young, single, and the exchange rate was really good at the time! My BIL, who was stationed at Soesterburg, had a guy in his shop whose BIL was visiting for the same year I did...doing the Nanny thing for his sister, too. Eddie and I roamed the country when we could get away...he lived in Spakenburg and I was in Hooglanderveen so we'd meet at the Amersfort train station and go from there...Zeist, Haarlem, Amsterdam... And honestly, I'm more fond of a nice bottle of Amstel than Heineken. Stroopwafels were my sister's fav...
This may sound crazy, but whenever I smell fresh manure I think of the Netherlands...our home was in a small town, out the front door and to the left were horses, sheep and a field that was always sprayed with organic fertilizer, out of the back door and down the stree a few houses were the cattle...ah, the freshness of the country! I love it and miss it! So that smell is a good one for me.
Well, now that I miss the Netherlands a bit more, I will go...thanks for sharing my love of the country everyone!
