Etsy case question

I ordered something from Etsy for the first time on Feb. 11th. The seller never shipped the item, won't respond to emails, and his phone is disconnected. I escalated the case two weeks ago. I have not heard anything from Etsy. Their help does say that cases should be resolved within three weeks. Unfortunately I used our debit card to pay, so I don't think I can dispute the charge like I could with a credit card.

Any insight on how Etsy works? Do they usually take the full three weeks to review/resolve the matter. I asked for a refund. The item still shows as not being shipped.

Thanks for any advice!

No unfortunately it was not an option with this seller. I think I'll have to chalk it up to a lesson learned. Hopefully Etsy will come through and refund my money - the guy never even marked it as shipped. Someone else is having the same issue with this guy. Ugh!

I worked at a bank for a few years, when I was there we would do disputes on debit card charges. As long as you have that Visa logo, you are protected under it. If its another card, I don't know, but I would think the policies would be similar. Either way- I would call your bank and explain the situation. Good luck!!

I hate etsy and I will never do business with them again. I had problems from a seller that never shipped the item and after fighting back and forth with the seller I left him negative feedback. Then he turned around and left me negative feedback with way over the cussing about a nice way to... You know what and Seth refused to delete it. I went back and forth with etsy

Uggghhh I hate that site. Sorry for the rant

I had an Etsy issue too. I ordered an item, and I filed a claim after 3-4 weeks, no item, and seller would not respond to any emails. The calim was opened up, etc.

FINALLY the item did arrive, from CHINA. That is why it took so long. I would not have even ordered it from this seller, if I knew it was being shipped from China. That should be stated on the site; many others were selling the same item after all, and I did not suspect it because it said item would arrive in 5-7 days (NOT!)

I am sure seller did not respond to emails, because probably did not know English. :sad2: i have ordered before, with no issues, so it is a crap shoot.
