We usually hear our names which are not standard but not uncommon either. I've found that the "different" names are pronounced phonetically and are not always legible. Also, because all the names of the people in the vehicle get run together (goodbye Joe, Bob, Mary, Alice, Peter, Tom, Bill, Nancy) it can get tough to hear the distinction between the names.
I also think that the names are entered phonetically and not necessarily by their correct spelling, so if the data entry person doesn't enter them correctly, it doesn't come out right.
