ET ride spaceships

Does anybody riding the ET ride in spaceships instead of bikes?

I've never seen any spaceships.

I know at this point there are no spaceship on E.T. I'm not sure how long they lasted. I never got a chance to ride in the spaceships.

happened to me once ... t'was after a few rounds at a bar ... friends tell me I rode Twirl and Hurl, but I'm positive it was ET ... I do recall there was some kind of Etra Terrestrial atop the ride ... 100% POSITIVE


(sorry I had to do it, and btw, the "space shop" really made my day )

YES! The first time we went in 1991 when I was 2 1/2 we had to go in the spaceships because I wasn't big enough to go on the bikes. Definitely remember riding in one but only on that first trip.

Doing a quick search on Google, they did have spaceships back when the ride first opened. Not sure what happened to them and I couldn't find a picture

Spaceship or bikes were used for the ride in the beginning
Riders could choose which vehicle they wanted

Now I remember that on my first trip there
We went with bikes

In 2004 the ride was down to remove the spaceship vehicles and replaced with only bikes
Ride reopened 2005

Me too! Now I am mad at myself for not remembering this little tidbit of theme park history. I though the OP's question was a joke. And nice job Googling yourself (and us) out of the quandary.

We first went to Universal Studios 1997 and we went on bikes not spaceships, was it an option either or?

Yes the option was there
You could choose between the two

One of my sons reminded me that we were given the choice but wanted the bikes so we could see everything better

Next time I'll ask him instead of goggle
