I will be going to Disney in March 2006. i live in Canada and would like to call to canada while I am at Disney. What is the best way to call or should I say the least expensive way to call home from Disney?

Hi! We are from Mississauga, Ontario and we use a Bell Canada calling card when we travel to Disney. You will pay the 75 cent charge to dial from your room (which is unavoidable) but you'll skip their ridiculous long distance rates. The card has a # to call right on it, then you enter a PIN and then dial the Canadian # you want to reach. You will see the charge on your Bell bill when you get home. If you're not with Bell, I'm sure all other carriers provide a similar service. So far it's been our cheapest way to call home. Have fun!!

To aviod the 75 cent charge use a pay phone in the lobby (I never call from a room phone).

I was able to use my verizon cell phone in Canada last year and the rates were suprisingly inexpensive. I understand I was doing the reverse of your question but you may want to check with your mobile phone carrier to see if they have an alliance with a US carrier.

When you get off the plane check the airport gift shop for phone cards. They are really reasonable and the best way to call internationally from the states. I used them for three years when my sisters family was stationed in Italy. I used to buy a $20 card and get over 700 minutes. Just be sure the card you buy is 1) a local area code call (meaning a local Orlando area code you'll dial to activate and use the calling card) and 2) make sure the card is good for Canada. Some of them are for specific countries.

The cheapest for you would be to have the other person call you at Disney. I would think cell phones would be the best option otherwise.

2 empty cans and a really, really long piece of string is the cheapest. It is just hard to set up.
