I'm still wrapping up our FP's and dining reservations. We have a FOP FP for 6:45 in July and Rainforest Cafe reservation for 7:45. Will we make it in time for our dinner reservation if we arrive at FOP at 6:45 or 5 minutes early?
About how much time does it take to ride FOP using the FP line on a busy summer evening?

We got stuck in the que in a small science room before the ride. The voice over repeated for about 20 minutes. We had a fast pass. Plan accordingly I'd say.

Haven't been in summer but have done FP+ multiple times , multiple trips. Never took more than 30 minutes start to finish to ride. Have been in room that glitches a couple times but I think it seems much longer than it actually is.

Haven't been in summer but have done FP+ multiple times each trip in October, January and April. And one trip we skipped AK. Never took more than 30 minutes start to finish to ride. Have been in room the glitches a couple times but I think it seems much longer than it actually is.

Felt like forever for sure. Had a child very upset. Thanks be I had a glow stick with me for them.

Ok good.

Oh I hear you, I think because it is dark, a very small room and that video becomes so irritating. I think each show is about 5 minutes, but when that glitches and you are there maybe 10 minutes ... it's 10 painful minutes.

I would arrive early and go in as soon as they let you. Then exit quickly .. not a bad walk to RFC, 10 minutes most if you don't daudle. I think an hour should be plenty of time.

Uh, if you, uh, get caught, uh, in the first room, uh, it sometimes takes, uh, a little, uh, longer.

To the OP, get to the FP+ queue right at the beginning. Assume 5 minutes or less to get to FP merge point. From there, you are put into a long row of people waiting to be placed in rooms. Depending on how things are going, this could be 10+ minutes. You then have the placing in rooms and the annoying guy in the first room. I think this is sometimes 5-10 minutes. The second room is usually faster. Then allow 10 minutes for the actual experience and the exit from the ride. So on average, as others have stated, about 30 minutes for the full experience. But things do happen to make it last longer. But even will all this, I think an hour after you start is very doable. If the ride runs long, just walk faster afterwards.

Uh, who wrote that awful script?

I plan for 30 minutes for myself and my husband. We ride separately as my daughter is still chicken. :)

We get to the FP line 5 minutes early in most cases and have never had a problem getting on at any ride at that time.

We just rode with 9pm fast pass last Friday, 6/1. We scanned our fast passes at 9:06. We were out of ride and through with exit ramp and leaving at 9:40. We had a slight delay as they matched us to our avatars.

Having a FP has no bearing once you've reached that point

Riding FoP with a FP is a lot like riding Soarin with a FP. Your wait before your merge with stand by is typically very short. 5, 10 min. But once you've merged you still got a bit of a wait. Close to 30 min most of the time. But at that point it doesn't matter that you had a FP

We will be sure to get in line 5 minutes early

We had FP for 1:00.

There were 2 groups of us (since we had small kids with us we took turns.) The first group went in at 12:55. Both groups were done by 1:40. Took about 45 minutes for TWO rides through the FP line. 20ish minutes each.

I think you will be fine especially if you tap in a few minutes early. I’m not sure if afternoon vs day matters, but it was very crowded in the park that afternoon as it was one of the only totally clear afternoons without rain during that week (this was a couple weeks ago.)

We've ridden it several times and the shortest has been 20 minutes and the longest was 45.

We've gotten held up in the line after the merge (though being a smaller party has allowed us to get pulled out quickly a couple of times) and in the first pre-show room. We always have a FP and never had to wait to merge - just walk right up to the scanner and then proceed through.

On Sunday, we were on and off in 20 minutes and it was the fastest we've ever done it.

I think you'll be okay, even if you get stuck there for 45 minutes. I also find restaurants to be understanding if you get held up on a ride and are a few minutes late. Just scan in as soon as you're able to (5 min prior).

We had one time that took 40 minutes but that was considered enough of a catastrophe that they actually gave us each 2 any ride (really any ride including FOP, FEA & SDMT) any time fastpasses. I'm alright with that any day of the week!
