Three weeks ago, we were supposed to divide what remained of our MIL's estate. Due to work schedules, of five siblings, it didn't work out. Today, was the day.
We arrived at the house at 5 pm. We waited a bit until all the other siblings arrived. Once everyone arrived, and the Flyers game was over
, the importance of the meeting occured. We went room by room, and just asking with whatever piece, who wants this? Anyone? It was not done with picking names out of the hat, or going from first to last born (DH is last born!)
After what could have been two hours of pure agony, or fights, nothing happened. I did not want to appear moochy or greedy, and I kept on asking who wants this? Who is sure?....
We were told to take anything portable that we wished, and come back on Saturday to get everything else. One sibling is renting a Uhaul from his home and is driving over to MIL's home. From there, we will all be making deliveries to the respective houses with all the furniture.
It was wonderful, no one fought, or had any problems with anything.
It was nice to have a very peaceful ending to this
