ESTA passport question

I am planning to do the family esta before the charge comes in but my childs
passport will need renewed before we go next year.
Will i have to do a new esta for her next year or does the passport number not change

If it's the same as adult passports then yes the number will change and you will have to do a new ESTA application. You can still do the rest of the family though so at least you will only have one ESTA charge to pay.

I'm not sure if it's the same with children but remember the passport office can add up to, I think, 9 months (could be wrong though?) to your new passport from your old one. So you could possibly try and get it renewed before the charge comes in but you'll still have the remaining time on it from the old passport

Yes, you can do it with kids passports too. People get confused because they are only valid for 5 years but they will still add the extra months on for you if you apply for a new one early.

I didn't notice them until Lauren pointed them out on another thread. I am not entirely sure when they appeared.
