Hi tipsters!
Both of my parents have a bday before our trip so i'm thinking of making a Disney vacation essential basket for them.
What would you put in it? What does everyone need for their trips? We have been before but I know you all have creative ideas i would never think of! thank you!!

I'd put in some of those cheap "disposable" ponchos, small tube of sunscreen and lip sunscreen they can bring to the parks, a refillable water bottle and flavor packets if they're water drinkers (the park water tastes horrible!), bandaids...

Depending on how much you want to spend, you could pack it all in a new bag for them to carry in the parks. This is the one I have, and I LOVE it. Two water bottle holders, ample storage, yet not so big I'm inclined to bring everything I own.

Happy shopping!

Disney gift cards, Disney bandaids ;D haha, gum (they dont sell it in the parks), I like the water bottles idea too http://www.disneystore.com/home-decor/kitchen-dinnerware/drinkware/mn/1000350/ if you go through those pages they have these great aluminum reusable water bottles you can get them with their favorite characters on them and maybe get reusable mugs for coffee and tea. Maybe a Disney shirt for each of them? A Mickey watch for your dad and Minnie one for your mom? Maybe make them cute Disneyfied luggage tags!

You didn't say what time of year, so maybe a neck cooler or mini mister for hot weather or hot hands packets for cold?

Mini tube of advil (always find I need it at some point and expensive in the park!)

What about the mini m&m tubes with quarters and pennies for pressed pennies? :woohoo:

Disney earrings for mom? Can often find cute ones pretty reasonably at sears or jcpenney

hats?

trivia or hidden mickey based 'scavenger hunt' type cards (I do this for the kids for things you can see in attraction lines and they always learn and see new things. I print them out 3x5 and laminate one for each park.

Travel packs of Wet-Ones Handi Wipes...these can be found at Target for $1.00/pack and there are 15 wipes in a pack.

Travel packs of Clorox wipes...I also get these at Target, although not all Targets have them. I use these to wipe down the table when we are eating a CS meal.

Target has misters in the "dollar spot"...they are $2.50 and I think they had 4 colors.

Are your parents kids at heart? Target has these neat LED glow sticks/flashlights in the flashlight section in a bunch of colors. I got them for the kids for parades and stuff, but i'm going back to get 2 for myself and my husband because we decided we want them too :thumbsup2

Does your dad wear hats? I got a mickey hat for my husband fairly cheap on disneystore.com.

I got my mom a Bobble water bottle for our trip (has a built in filter) as well as a little clip thing that goes on a bottle and allows you to attach it to your belt loop or a stroller (got them pretty cheap on ebay). Bobbles are on sale right now buy one get one on the waterbobble.com website, but you get two of whatever color you order (we're solving this with different color "straps" for them)

Do you think your mom might like to do the Pick a Pearl? Maybe a pearl cage so she can make a necklace...there are tons of styles on ebay...i got myself, my daughter and my mom the princess carriage ones so that we can do it together :).

what about a nice disney guide book they can read before or while travelling...or maybe the hidden mickey book or something...that would give them a fun activity in the parks, especially if they aren't big on rides.

In the mens department with the wallets Walmart has lanyards for badges/ids for $1...great for holding an id/room key/a credit card instead of carrying around a wallet (you can get them lots of places that happens to be where i got mine :))

If you do the pressed penny coins, you can get them a book to put them in too. I got mine on ebay and made covers for them, but you can get disney ones on ebay plus at some of the online stores that sell park merchandise (not disneystore.com though...they didn't have them last time i checked)

Shout wipes...good for food spills :)

Are you flying? Maybe a deck of Mickey cards that they could play a game with on the plane? I've seen some on amazon and ebay.

that's all i can think of for now! I'm looking through the care packages i did for my kids and I'm guessing they wouldn't want DS games, crayons, autograph books or Epcot passports

Mister fans (I like the "mini" fans; you can get them at Walmart)

Moleskin

Body Glide

Neutrogena spray sunscreen

"Emergency" ponchos

Brita filtering water bottles

If Mom will where makeup in the parks, packet of those blotting papers that don't smug your make up. Febreeze and downy wrinkle release spray are must haves. I refuse to iron, but still want to look neat. And sweatyclothes start to smell after a few days!
