I use Essential Oils for headach/back pain. These oils come in little glass jars. Will I be able to take those into the theme parks?

The jars are very little. I'm sure it won't be a problem. They are more concerned with beer bottles, etc, that break into many pieces when they fall.

I use essential oils too. I plan on bringing my diffuser and my oils :thumbsup2 My husband, who picks on me for using them, has requested the diffuser be brought with us for the room. LOL

I am new to essential oils (just got started a couple months ago). What oils will you use at Disney? We always seem to get sick after we get home from Disney. I am trying to avoid that this trip. I am going to make "thieves oil" hand sanitizer to use in the parks. Will also use "thieves oil" the regular way. Anything else good to use?

Glass container are not allowed in parks except baby bottles and perfume. I would leave them in your room or transfer to plastic containers

Oils can be expensive and with the glass jars, I would play it safe. To play it safe: I would combine my oils with a carrier like lotion(maybe oil on the stronger side) and have it in a plastic bottle.

kalc12345: eucalyptus, is a good one for health boost. We use that with lavender and jasmine in a bed spray.

It is a BIG NO NO to put the oils in plastic! The bottles are a lot smaller than baby food jars or perfume.

The main oil I need for the theme parks will probably be the PanAway.

It's not about the size. Baby food and baby bottle are needed to feed babies. Also the glass on them is thick. I've dropped bottles any times and they haven't shattered. I guess is perfume is ok because they sell it. The rules say no glass except those items. They don't say no glass containers unless they are small. If they are found (and we had some very complete searches of our bags including every pocket no matter how small) they will be confiscated. I don't understand why people think rules don't apply to them.

Don't start with that mess. No one said that rules don't apply to us. The bottles are small. I have dropped them and they have not broken. I have dropped baby jars and they break. I have dropped perfume bottles, they break. The oil bottles are the size of my thumb WITH the cap on.

If there were to find them in your bag and want to confiscate them, couldn't you tell them they are for medicinal purposes? I use essential oils for almost everything now and refuse to take "meds" anymore. That's at least what I plan to do on our upcoming trip if they try to take away my oils!

I was thinking the same thing. PanAway is used for medicinal purposes. So glad I have been into introduced to these oils.

But again, the bottle size doesn't matter. There are two exceptions to the "no glass" policy, and neither is for essential oils. http://www.containerandpackaging.com/catalog/metal-bottles/83/#1816

exactly. People take many things for medicinal purposes. For example wine. Some people drink wine for its medicinal properties and as a way to lower blood pressure or stress or anxiety. It doesn't mean Disney has to allow an exception to their rules because someone uses it medicinally. There is no protected class of essential oil users that apply.

Sorry didn't mean to open this can of worms. But I also don't expect to be treated differently. I also use these for medical reasons vs the OTC drugs. Maybe I'll just have to wait till I get there and ask at our resort desk.

It won't matter what the resort desk tells you. The security guards at the gates make the determination.

I use oils, Personal aromatherapy inhalers are plastic. I believe the roller balls of diluted oils went through gate check with me last year. I guess it looked like a travel perfume bottle. I use the inhalers for peppermint and eucalyptus & roller balls for muscle rub . None were refused entry at MK.

The roller balls are the 10ml ones is what I had. Personal inhalers are awesome! I use them for thieves oil too on airplanes, no ones else has to share the scent if it bothers them.

Were the roller balls in the glass bottle?

Yes.....that's how I prefer to use my oils....already diluted, I buy multiples of empty bottles and assemble my own. A local perfume store sold me my bottles. They do sell them on amazon also. I know the roller ball bottles r bigger than some of the glass oils containers, I really doubt that security would open one of the dram size ones unless you had a huge cosmetic bag full of them...just one or two, very doubtful, they didn't bat an eye at my roller ball bottles.

Thank you for clearing that up. :)

If you try to take them into the parks, you need to be prepared to either throw them out, or take them back to the resort. If the security guard tells you they are not allowed (which according to Disney's rules they are not) those will be your 2 options.

Is that a risk you are willing to take, or can you maybe do without them during the time in the parks, and use them at your resort?

Medication in glass containers is not allowed either though.
