ESPN weekend, MGM crowd level

I've bought TGM and have planned my itinerary based on his recommended parks. However, that results in us doing MGM on the afternoon/evening of March 3rd, the first day of ESPN weekend. I'm confused. Why would TGM list MGM as the least crowded park to do on that evening if ESPN is going on? HELP!

I spoke with someone who works at Wide World of Sports...she said that, unfortunately for Disney, ESPN weekend doesn't really increase the crowds much at MGM. We are headed there on Sunday the 5th...so I hope she's right!
