ESPN Weekend 2009?

Does anyone know if ESPN Weekend is normally held around the same time every year or better yet anyone know the 2009 dates for the event. My two sons have been hounding me relentlessly for the last couple of weeks, "See dad we could have been there". Thinking about booking a three or four night Disney cruise in connection with OKW stay around the ESPN Weekend event.

Well, we were in WDW for ESPN Weekend in 2007...just by chance! (Celebrating DD's b day)
THis year the dates were the same as before.....it appears to be the last weekend in Feb/first weekend in March...
When we were about to gt on Splash Mountain, the quarterback for the Steelers came through a separate door and cut right in front of us (Dont know how to spell his name..starts with "R" and ends in"linger"...I think!
Then in my photos at Ohana dinner at the Poly, DH says I have a football player in the pics too I didnt know abt!

Thanks "DB'03", thats what I was thinking. Have e-mailed and called everyone I could think of for solid dates with no real answers. I would hate to schedule and find out we missed by a week either way.

Try contacting allears.net via email....I think they keep stats on events etc.....they may have something more concrete....or did you try ESPN?

I would think they would know as well...good luck! A 4 day Wonder...arrive WDW THurs...ESPN weekend! Sounds like fun!

We have gone to ESPN the Weekend every year. The first year it was in the fall, but i guess they had a hard time getting NFL players there at that time of year. The last 3 or 4 years it has been around the same time (end of Feb, nlt first weekend of March). The last few years they didn't even announce the dates for the following ESPN weekend until around August or September. I remember this because the second I learned the dates, through all ears, I called that minute and booked BWV within the 7 month window. HTH

This year the dates were Feb 29, March 1 and 2. They did have a couple of broadcasts srart a day or two before that,Mike & Mike started doing their show on the Feb 28 I think.

I was down there this year for it. I think it has been that last weekend in Feb at least the last two years.

I believe the Mike & Mike Morning show was sold out at the ESPN Zone on the Boardwalk - so plan on trying to get tix early. We saw a broadcast of NFL Live at Disney's Hollywood Studios. We saw a few people - TRey Wingo, Chris Carter, Sal Paolantonio, Stink etc...

All - I have been feverishly searching and calling to find when the ESPN weekend will be in 2009. I don't understand why it hasn't been annouced yet. But in my searches I found a website which is hosting an event which they say 'conicides with the ESPN weekend'.... If that is the case, that means the ESPN weekend is not the last weekend in Feb but the first weekend in March (7-8). Of course this cannot be confirmed but it's better then what I had before, which was nothing! check it out for yourself, at

My money is on the weekend before (2/27-3/1). Studios normally holds an AM EMH on Saturdays, but didn't during 2008's The Weekend (presumably, no additional crowds were needed.)

In 2009, the 28th doesn't have an AM EMH, but the 7th does.

I forgot about this thread! I have not seen any "official" info as of yet either...we will be there again this year, the 26th to the 2nd....

Not looking forward to members of the Steelers cutting in front of us at Splash Mountain though!! LOL

well, in 07 I didnt think they were too bad....although Studios is the one park we didnt visit! lol
Its right after the busy Presidents Day weekend..week....and right before some school breaks....maybe ask on the Theme Parks thread, there are some experts there!

We've been there the last 3 ESPN Weekends. The other parks are no different than they otherwise would be, moderate is what I'd call the crowds. DHS will actually have shorter ride waits since people not interested in ESPN tend to avoid that park, fearing that it will be crowded. See ya there.
