ESPN the weekend is March 3-5, 2006. Has anyone ever visited during this event and attended the events? I would love info and opinions on this.
Thanks!

Iwill be going at the same time, and not sure if it really has anything I want to see - I tend to only do college football.
I went to the web site, espntheweekend.com. They list some of the events. It looks like it will be held at MGM.

Thanks! i did check out the website. Hope to hear some opinions from anyone who attended before. Have a good time.

Can't answer your questions on events, but we ended up at MGM on the ESPN Saturday this year not knowing anything about it! (Brits!) I presume it was busier, but we had no problems getting on any of the rides and attractions or eating, managing to book that day for Prime Time, and also get drinks and snacks no problem. The atmosphere was excellent even though we had no idea who anybody was etc. Great cheerleading group and motorcade(sp?), and enjoyed chatting to some people who had just come up for the day specially.

We were there at this time last year although had no idea it was going on. We happened to be at MGM that day. My son went to the live taping they were doing and tried to get on ESPN so his dad could see him. They both got a Nerf-type football and my other son enjoyed going to the booths they had set up just past RNR and TOT. They had mini-golf and some other midway type games and a racecar on display. We didn't think the park was noticeably more packed and got on the rides without much trouble but it was pretty windy that day and raining so that could be why. Looked like people were enjoying it despite the rain.

We went this year during ESPN weekend, not realizing it was scheduled (though my DW thinks otherwise :). We enjoyed it very much. But I am also a big fan of sports as are my 2 DS's -(ages: 10 & 5). Of course, with the Patriots coming off a SuperBowl win and the Red Sox having won the World Series made it that much more enjoyable.

Mainly ESPN events at MGM, though there was not much of a wait to get on rides (we rode TOT 3 times in less than an hour), though I notice Touringplans.com expects crowds of 6 and 7's for the weekend. (scale of 1-10 with 10 being the busiest.)

With the ESPN events, taping of SportsCenter, and sports personalities in the park, I assume that tends to draw a few more people to the park. But on the flipside, with people gathering for the events and shows, maybe that means less people on the rides (?)
