Has anyone ever been down for the Superbowl? And if so where did you watch it? ESPN?? My DH is a little upset I planned our trip over the Superbowl. I've tried to make amends by having ressies at the childcare place in WL and figured we can watch it at ESPN (or anyplace else that may be suggested). Anyone else going to be down doing the same thing?? I'll really be in trouble if the Eagles make it! But I do have my fingers crossed. Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't know about other places that may show it but I have heard that the line at the ESPN Club on Superbowl Sunday starts in the morning so if you don't want to stand in line all day it might be impossible to get a seat before the game. Maybe someone else will be able to help you with other places to see the game.

IS there some reason you don't want to watch it in your room? Disney does carry the ESPN channels as well as the major network stations.

Good luck trying to get into ESPN. Even a regular sunday game has a line out the door. There is a TV in the Crewscup at the YC, and also the lobby bars at the YC & BC if you don't want to be in your room.

I would never want to watch the Superbowl alone in a hotel room. It should be a group event. So thanks for the thoughts. Maybe we will head to treasure island if it is too crowded at ESPN.

I will be at the WL for the NFC championship game and I plan to watch my Eagles go to the superbowl in the comfortable surroundings of my room with my girlfriend, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've watched a thousand games in crowded bars, but this trip is for us and thats all I need for the game. As for the superbowl, if the Eagles are in it I might consider a trip to San Diego instead. Hopefully I will be celebrating an Eagles victory next Sunday night at Artist Point!

We were there last year...yeah, Patriots!!!! We stayed at AS Sport and watched it in the cafeteria. It was a blast. Consider watching it at your hotel and don't forget to go to MGM the day after...the MVP rides in a car during the afternoon parade...got a pic of Tom Brady last year:)

we were there for the SuperBowl a few years back. Yes the line to get into ESPN was crazy but they had a great set-up out front with a small bar, a tent with seating and big screens on the Boardwalk to watch the game. I'm hoping they still do this as I'll be there again this year - does anyone know??

I think the ESPN CLUB would be a really fun place to watch a game but as mentioned it will be CRAZY trying to get in there. I've seen much smaller, less important sporting events draw huge crowds there. I don't know how much fun it would be (and how costly) to stay there ALL day and this is coming from a die hard football fan and fantasy football league participant:bounce: Plus you mentioned leaving your children at the Cub's Den so if you would have to get to the ESPN Club in the morning and the game not being until late in the day that won't work out. The Territory Lounge is next to Artist Point and they serve appetizers, burgers, etc. I can't remember if they have a tv. You could call and ask ahead of time. Even if they normally don't have a tv they might for the Super Bowl! That way you could leave your children at the Cub's Den and be close by too.

p.s. Thanks Philly fans, their defense saved my hide in fantasy football many a time this year! I think it will be Philly and Oakland in the Super Bowl. Just my opinion!

Thanks to everyone with there advice. We still we be watching the Superbowl somewhere outside of our room but sadly w/out the the Eagles. My DH would never think to watch it from our room he is a huge sports fan (runs a fanasty FB league Epcot gal, so I know what you mean). I've watch a thousand games in crowded bars and plan to keep it up, much more fun that way. I can always watch it from home.....probably the only time in Disney! Thanks!

I can highly recommend the Territory Lounge at WL. They have excellent micro-brews. Terrific snack items and a large screen TV.

WL also has the Cub's Den babysitting where you can drop the kids off and be in the same hotel as them.

My DH is a MAJOR NFL fan and spent alot of time in the Lounge during our last stay at WL. He really enjoyed it.

What, Superbowl in a hotel room????? hahaha

My wife went a few years ago when her family was down. I thin k she arrived at about 8AM. Just to let you know, it's going to be a LONG wait. Might be worth it if you're a fan of the Bucs. The atmosphere is great, albeit expensive if you eat lunch and dinner there. We go frequently during the regular season and arrive about 1-1.5 hours ahead of time. Hope this helps

May I suggest calling your resort and seeing what they have planned?

The reason I suggest this is last year I was at the Carribbean Beach Resort on Superbowl day and they put on quite a party.

They brought in these huge TV screens and set them up by the outdoor pool bar. They set up tons of tables and also BBQs where they were grilling hot dogs and serving beer and popcorn. The food court was right next door if people wanted other food. There were lots of people but lots of space and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

It was great... I am not even a football fan but I hung out there for a while.
