My family was planning on running the ESPN together(Me, DH and 2 kids) but now I see that the Royal Family still isn't filled and Epcot is our favorite park.

Has anyone run both, which did you like better? Thanks!!

Both courses are park courses - but I am with you of the two. The current Epcot course is a great little course and you get nearly a full tour of the park. The ESPN seems to have a little more parking lot with the inital out and back... but both have about the same distance in the parks. From a technical perspective, the ESPN course is full of tight turns and that can be a problem if pushing... but not sure that is the case with a family run.

Go with your favorite park -- Or as a stock holder I would say...do BOTH

I only did the RF, but I have to say I loved it. It was amazing running through the World Showcase. Not sure of your kids ages, but the costumes at the Princess run was so much fun. Not sure if too many will dress for ESPN race.

Both the EPCOT course and the DHS course have you starting out in a parking lot for maybe about a mile at EPCOT, a little less at DHS. If I had to choose between the two I would choose ESPN. As far as the race is concerned the ESPN is better quality for your money. It is a timed race with a real medal, not a rubber medallion, and you get a tech shirt instead of a cotton shirt.

So the ESPN is better than the Royal 5k? My friend and I have never done any race before and signed up for the Royal. I'm hoping to do the Wine and Dine 1/2 this year and just wanted to get a race in before hand. So we just signed up for this one because it was first.

It really depends on what you are looking for in a race. The ESPN is more competitve. It is an actual timed race and not a Family Fun Run. It tends to be a little less crowded, less childer, no strollers. There are no characters, though there is a sports celebrity that runs the event with you. As well as some professional athletes and cheerleaders to cheer you into the finish line. There are trivia signs along the route for entertainment. If you are looking for more of a standard race go ESPN. If you are looking for a fun way to get a little exercise in and not looking for a good finish time and maybe get some character pictures along the way go with the Princess.

Agreed. DH and I ran both last year. He ran the Royal Family one with me as I run slower, and it wasn't timed. The medals for ESPN are great! Loved the tech shirts from ESPN as well...living in FL, wish they weren't black. We finished our 1st half at WDW in Jan and we are registered for Disneyland half in Sept...Coast to Coast this year!
