ESPN is lickley going to Bid for the 20014 and 20016 Games the bid process that will end Oct. 2009 Of course according to reports NBC CBS, and FOX will do the same.

That doesn't surprise me. Actually ESPN's bid represens ABC's bid. If I'm not mistaken Chicago is in the running for the 2016 summer games.

This is a good thing a very good thing. I personally can not stand the coverage so far on NBC. Mainly because in my opinion Bob Newmeyer is the only talented and knowledgeable sports caster/reporter for NBC all the others are awful including and especially Bob Costas. I think if ABC/ESPN were to win the bid the production and presentation would be ten times better. Just think about it they make bowling, poker and the X Games look amazing just think what they could do with the Olympics.

i remember when abc had the games. ( ok I date myself.) but they had jim mccay among others as commentator. As much as I love nbc's coverage of the games, i think someone like espn and abc could give as much coverage and be just as thorough as nbc. Fox and cbs don't have the extra channel capabilities and that is what makes coverage work. I have been able to watch live coverage of semifinal and final matches in sports like archery and rowing that wouldn't otherwise be shown.

I work for a NBC Station and would hate to see it go because it brings it a lot of needed reenue, But I would love to see what ESPN could do for it being they are a 24hour sports network.
