ESPN Club Thanksgiving?

Ok, my husband (and myself to a certain extent) are both big football fans, we are from Kansas City its a city resident requirement. (go Chiefs!) We are planning a trip to Disney Nov 23-No 29th and would like to stop by the ESPN club for lunch/dinner/snack sometime, but dont want to be facing the mob of the century. (We used to have season tickets so crowds are fine, mobs with no breathing room are not)

Has anyone tried to see a thanksgiving night game there around 8:30? The Chiefs are playing the Broncos at 8:30 that night and I thought it would be cool to stop by and see. I also have a back up plan of visiting for Monday night football, since the week after thanksgiving is supposed to be less crowded.

Anyway has anyone done this, how busy was it? Thanks in advance!

This is the first year that there is an NFL game on Thanksgiving night. Prior to 2006 there were only the two afternoon games, so I'm afraid there is no history for you.

But I would be prepared for big crowds. NFL Sundays always draw a lot of people at ESPN, and Thanksgiving is a very busy time of year at WDW. Maybe I'll be wrong, and people won't want to eat burgers and chicken wings on Thanksgiving, but I'd be ready for a large turnout for the three football games.

We've never gone into the ESPN on football days but have walked by many, many times and noticed the lines to get in. If you want the sit down restaurant side, you'll have a long wait. If you can live with the bar side, it won't be as bad. Not sure what will happen Thanksgiving night. I didn't even realize there was a game! Guess we'll be heading back to the resort that night. We're Atlanta Falcons season ticket holders but have a soft spot for Kansas City since we lived in Omaha for 11 years.
