Is it on the dining plan? Can you make ADR's? If not, what is the typical wait for dinner? How is the food? DH really wants to go here...and I want to check out the Boardwalk area for the first time! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

I am not sure about the dining plan and ADR, but I can tell you that the wait at ESPN depends on if there is a sporting event going on. I know that if a big game is scheduled for a night you want to go, you can either wait a very long time or not get in at all. It also depends on when you go. I recently was there and we stopped in during lunch time and we had no wait. The food is no bad, it isn't the best food in the world. But I will tell you that the portions are rather large. I have had the pulled pork and that was pretty good. The Boardwalk is amazing though so I definitely think you should take time to enjoy the area. The bike rentals are fun if you want to have an activity while there as well!

I haven't been there, but can say that yes it's on the dining plan (1 TS). You can't make advance ADRs online or through the Disney Dining #.

It's hot dog was voted "the best hot dog on property" a little while ago. I'll be heading their in 29 days to test that theory. :goodvibes

It's not on the dining plan but I've eaten at the ESPN Zone here in Vegas and I must say they have lots of variety and pretty good food. My wife had the burger and I had the chicken sandwich. Very good and the portions are pretty large. I would give it a try.

on the dining plan in 2007 & 2008. As previous posters stated, the wait depends on what is going on in the world of sports. In 2008 we were there during the NBA finals and had a VERY long wait. They do not do ADRs. :thumbsup2Burgers are really good there.

:drinking1According to the DIS list the ESPN Club in on the dining plan as TS.

We had dinner there a while back. I believe we ate pretyy early between 5:00 and 6:00. We were on the dinning plan and it was a nice break from the heavy meals. The food was good similar to a Fridays. We did not eat there this year but did go the the Boardwalk at the request of DDs who had remembered it being fun last time we were there. If you are not eating at a restuarant at the Boadwalk there is really nothing spefcial about the Boardwalk. It is nice to walk around but the logistics of transportaion outweight the enjoyment. Of course this does not hold true if you are close- we were at the WL. :hippie:

ESPN is on the dining plan, but doesn't accept ADRs. It's pretty typical "bar food." We eat there every trip...we enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere.

Here is an example of a huge crowd going there for a big sporting event. In Janurary 1999 my family and I had planned on eating there, however when we arrived there was a huge line outside the door. Well it turned out that same night was the BCS National Championship Game and we had no idea it was happening that night, so instead we ended up going to TGI Friday's at the Crossroads.

My son loves ESPN and we go every trip! Last time I was there, my mom and I split the cuban burger and it was soooo good!!! :goodvibes

If you go, make sure to visit the bathroom...its sooo funny to see all the televisions in there! :rotfl2: Truly, its my son's favorite part.

I do believe they take the dining plan. As someone else has stated, no ADRs. The earlier you go, the better!

my family went there in april while staying at the villa's on the boardwalk and it was the worst meal we ate in our 10 day trip to disney. so bad we didn't even leave a tip and we told the manager how horrible it was. our family will not be going back.

I've eaten here a couple of times with friends.

The first time we went was for lunch. It was pretty quiet, the food was good and our server was great.

The second time we went, it was for dinner. It was quite busy but the service was terrible!!! We saw our server when we ordered and then he disappeared for the entirety of our meal. It took ages to get our check and as we were 3 separate parties dining together, we requested it be split. The server gave us a huge sigh and complained that he'd just done had to do that for another party. Not a good experience!

Suffice to say, I probably won't return to ESPN at dinnertime if they can't cope with the volume of customers.

Horrible, horrible food! This is the one place in all of WDW that I have vowed never to try again. I always stay in the Epcot resort area, so this used to become an option for at least one meal a trip. After several bad experiences, I vowed never again!

We had lunch there in June, the place was completely empty and the food was very good....they do take the TIW card here too

Similar to our experience. Bad food, but absolutely the worst service ever on our last visit. Server disappeared for huge chunks of time. The server threw, yes I said threw, our food on the table. My plate actually bounced on the table. Food was overcooked, and my nachos had been nuked (you know, the cheese had the post-nuked texture of melted plastic, and tasted about the same). Somehow, the food was cold as well. Amazing trick.

I've heard several people write that they love it, but after many years (6 or 7 now), we are just now even considering going back, and only because we too stay in the BW area mostly and it's awfully close by.

Thanks for all the info...DH really wants to go here (and he doesn't ask for much:lovestruc)...I think we need to give it a try in Dec. :)

It is one of our MUST DOs.. every trip!!! I HAVE TO GET THE NACHOS..

Highly recommend this place!!!!

We'll be there the week of Christmas.. our first Christmas Trip to Disney!!!!
