Glad the nanny's on board - that helps a lot!
The collie temperment should be more predictable with children than the JR (NOTHING against them!). I got a collie after college when I moved out on my own and she was a wonderful dog! They do require regular brushing, but in my experience the shedding and hair isn't as bad with that breed as with my husky/shepherd mix. Collie hair seems to sit on the surface of carpet and vacuums easily. Do check the health of the parents tho - this breed has some medical quirks as I recall....
