Well where to start? My life is, well let's just say complicated. I am currently a newly single father of two wonderful children(5 year old boy and 2 year old daughter). My wife and I are in the final stages of divorce and my 5 year old has not been handling it well let's just say....especially at the beginning. You see we had planned a family vacation for my Son's birthday to Disney World March 2010 but because of certain events that was no longer possible. My son was truly disappointed so I planned a father and son trip for September 2010. He loves, loves rides so he was extremely excited.:woohoo:
Fastfoward a few months and I am hospitalized for DKA in intensive care(not just once but twice in a two month span). I am diabetic and on the insulin pump...and the stress from the closing of one chapter of my life did not help matters (very long story about ex and how she chose to move on which I will not bother you with:headache:). The problem became that I was unsure whether or not I would be able to take him to Disney as planned. I had just gotten out of the hospital in August (2nd time) but I knew I couldn't let him down again.

So what to do......:confused3

We go of course....

There is no way I would do that to my son. I buckled down and made all my ADRs. I am a very, very detailed planner for some reason. No clue where I get it from since my parents hate plans.

Our vacation was from Sept 12-Sept 18, 2010.... (really, a dancing banana?)

Well first the cast or crew if you will for this great adventure into the unknown (first time alone on vacation with son).

Me, 32...not a fan of pictures of myself.
DS, 5...loves pictures of himself :confused3

We both love rollercoasters and he is now tall enough (44 inches) to ride most if not all(sorry no RNR yet :headache:)

So this is where we are....DS and me going to Disney world and also attending MNSSHP...why not

Sorry Folks I will be posting more but with current events this weekend it was not possible...job hazzard I'm afraid.
I also have pictures I promise:rolleyes1

My son stayed the night on saturday so we could get any early 5 am start to our day. Our plan was leaving Detroit at 8am so we had to get moving. Me being the planner had everything packed literally the week before so it was all good.

I was really sad for my 2 year old daughter that day I picked up my son though...she actually told me to take her and not my DS to see minnie (she says mee mee)...:worried: I was really heartbroken over that...she was so sad. I knew this trip at least I could not handle the two of them by myself (next year I am going to try :goodvibes). My ex did not make it better by saying I should have taken her....Not a good start to a vacation my two year and my ex making me feel guilty...

Of course my ex wanted to go as well (as long as I payed) but really I just couldn't put myself through that....coming up hopefully pictures and the guilt goes away for a day at least :confused3

Im here. The title caught my attention, as I am a teenager, with a father, who has never been to the world. ( father, not me, Ive been 2 times.) So I'm ready to read.
Edit: Okay, I'm all caught up. Sorry about the divorce. I guess you will just have to take your DD on a trip alone later. Good start so far, keep it up.
