Hello Everyone,
I’m new here been lurking for a while but this is my first post :)
I have lots of questions about escape weddings and you guys are so knowledgeable so I thought I would take the plunge and register!

I have been thinking about an escape wedding in 2013 I know its far away but I need to save up some pennies to turn into cents.

now for the questions:

1. I have read that the tussie mussie is plastic, I love the vintage look of it but can you get a silver one if you pay extra?? if you can what is the cost?

2. How much on average do wedding alter arrangements cost or the two podium floral arrangements cost? now I know they vary a lot but if you had one would you be willing to tell me what they cost?

3. I was thinking of going for the wedding pavilion but it will be only me, my man and our parents - do you think that the venue is just to big for such a small party??

4. also I have heard that you have to use the commanders terrace for your cake cutting - how long are you there for?

5. I love the look of the epcot bridal shoot - anyone know what time this starts and how long it lasts? Does the wedding co-ordinator set this up?

6. Can you do the bridal shoot on the morning of your wedding?

5. What is a standard running plan for Disney weddings?? As I’m from the UK I imagine it would vary greatly from what I’m used to?

6. I was thinking after the wedding and cake cutting of going to have a very light snacky lunch (as I’m planning on going to the Yaughtsmans for the evening meal) any ideas where I should head?

sorry that was lots of questions but I hope you can help :)

I can only answer 2 of your ?'s

3. I was thinking of going for the wedding pavilion but it will be only me, my man and our parents - do you think that the venue is just to big for such a small party??
I had a very small party there was 6 of us total and i was married at the wedding pavilion. The venue is big but i don't think it was to big. I'm very happy with getting married there. it's a lovely place and it has ac which was good because it was pretty hot outside.

4. also I have heard that you have to use the commanders terrace for your cake cutting - how long are you there for?
we were only there for 1/2 hr. enough time for cake cutting, cake eating, first dance. the time went really quick.

I haven't seen anyone ask for this yet. Probably something to ask the coordinator if they have this option or if you can provide it to floral.
2. How much on average do wedding alter arrangements cost or the two podium floral arrangements cost? now I know they vary a lot but if you had one would you be willing to tell me what they cost?

For our EPCOT shoot we were picked up at 7AM and we left EPCOT at 830AM. Yes, you would ask your wedding coordinator to set this up for you through photography.

6. Can you do the bridal shoot on the morning of your wedding?
Yup!

5. What is a standard running plan for Disney weddings?? As I’m from the UK I imagine it would vary greatly from what I’m used to?

Congratulations on your up coming nuptials! As a fellow UK bride I'll do my best to answer some of your questions.

1. I have read that the tussie mussie is plastic, I love the vintage look of it but can you get a silver one if you pay extra?? if you can what is the cost?

If the tussie mussie is plastic (I cannot confirm this) and you want a silver one, I recommend you purchase one yourself and give it to your planner before your big day. It will probably save you money as Disney tend to charge more than outside vendors.

2. How much on average do wedding alter arrangements cost or the two podium floral arrangements cost? now I know they vary a lot but if you had one would you be willing to tell me what they cost?

I sadly cannot answer this one - I'm sure someone else will be along. If not it may be worth you looking through the budget threads.

3. I was thinking of going for the wedding pavilion but it will be only me, my man and our parents - do you think that the venue is just to big for such a small party??

This is personal preference. There are several couples who've had small weddings at the pavillion and loved it. It's entirely up to you and how you feel about it.

4. also I have heard that you have to use the commanders terrace for your cake cutting - how long are you there for?

You do have the Commanders Terrace for your cake cutting, you normally have this for around 30 - 45 minutes.

5. I love the look of the epcot bridal shoot - anyone know what time this starts and how long it lasts? Does the wedding co-ordinator set this up?

All bridal shoots are done early in the morning before park opening, the shoots normally last one hour. You can set this up with your co-ordinator.

6. Can you do the bridal shoot on the morning of your wedding?

Yes you can, some brides on the boards have done this.

5. What is a standard running plan for Disney weddings?? As I’m from the UK I imagine it would vary greatly from what I’m used to?

As you'll be having such a small Escape wedding it will be a lot more relaxed than your typical UK wedding. If you PM me your email address i'll be happy to forward the itinerary you receive from Disney.

6. I was thinking after the wedding and cake cutting of going to have a very light snacky lunch (as I’m planning on going to the Yaughtsmans for the evening meal) any ideas where I should head?

You could try the Grand Floridian Cafe.

Another alternative is to get married a little later in the day, go for dinner then either have a dessert party or a fireworks cruise?

Im so glad to hear we're not the only little party for a wedding! yeah I can see the a/c coming in handy also I thought the pavillion is such an iconic building and if it rains it does not change anything!

30min! thats not long - can you hire it for longer??

see the green text above!
I did not realise the EPCOT shoot start would be so early!

Welcome!

We had a WP wedding with just parents and loved it. Yes you can get Commander's Terrece for longer.

You might want to do it the other way round, have a big lunch and then a light dinner before a DP, that way you won't be too full for all the yummy desserts.

oooh do you know how much it costs to extend the time there?? maybe we could get some sandwiches or something there??

yeah, I know what you meal about the LT meal (would be cheaper too) and completely agree that would be the sensible option!!! but we had our hearts set on Yaughtsmans our last visit was very special to us, we had a lovely romantic meal and we both have a place in our hearts for it - so maybe we will have our 'evening' meal at 5.30pm when it opens and then head to the bar at the GF or at the BW (where we will be staying) that should give us enough time to 'make some room' in our bellys for the DP

Also all the signature restaurants outside of the parks only do dinner... dont they??

although we will have another trip a year before the wedding so might have somewhere else special by then :)

we had some fruit at commanders terrece, it was about $7.50 per person.

We ate hardly anything at out DP as everyone was still stuffed.
