Escape wedding... Is this legal?

Hello, all! I'm fairly new to the wedding/honeymoon board. I'm not *officially* engaged (YET!) The ring is merely a formality at this point, as we've both agreed to a Disney Wedding and very frequently discuss options regarding our thus-far-hypothetical nuptials and related celebration... I definitely consider myself "engaged to be engaged" ;)

Anyway...

I have some ideas but I'm not sure how 'flexible' the escape package can be. I have the Passporter book, but maybe I haven't read far enough.

My first choice is to have the bulk of the wedding in the Magic Kingdom area, SO... I was thinking it would be nice to have the entire event at the Whitehall Room and Patio: Ceremony on the patio, dinner reception in the room, end the night with Wishes from the patio.

Will DFTW deviate from the limited choices on the Escape Package??

If not, SBP will have to do, and then maybe dinner at CG or Citrico's followed by a Wishes cruise on the Grand 1?

OR... A morning ceremony at SBP with a brunch reception at Ariel's (possible?.. not a big fan of the Attic decor) and a DP later that evening at EPCOT or on Grand 1?

DFF (that's "dear FUTURE fiance") really hates IllumiNations (:confused3 IKR!!) and loves Wishes, but, tentative guest count outnumbers Grand 1 guest limit, so one more question: Is there another place for a Wishes dessert party outside the park?? Don't say 2 pontoons... I don't like the idea of splitting my people up ;)

I'm asking for both opinions on my ideas AND the legality of them in the eyes of DFTW :thumbsup2

TIA!!

I can only help out with the last question. I had a Wishes dessert party at the Contemporary Resort's West Rotunda Patio. I'm not sure what the listed capacity is (I had 12 guests, plus DH and I) so I don't know if it'll work size-wise, but it's an idea!

Unfortunately, no. The whole point of the Escape package is that it be easy for DFTW to pull off, hence the limited and inflexible options.

Wishes dessert parties can be held at Sago Cay and the Marina at the Grand Floridian or the Rotunda and West Courtyard at the Contemporary. You can see images of all these places here and the pricing and capacities are in Chapter 5 of the PassPorter. :thumbsup2

It will be a party of 23, 3 of those of the "under age 3" type... I saw some pics of the West Rotunda Patio. How was the view of wishes from there? Do you have any of your own pics you can share?

Ahhh, that totally makes sense!! And here I was thinking the limited Escape options were merely a convenience for the couple :thumbsup2

I just read about the minimums for the GF and CR Dessert Party locations you mentioned, and as much as I like Sago Cay, I just don't think the $1250 plus 21%, plus 6.5% would be a wise cut into my budget... can't justify it with only 23 people ;) Now that leaves the more reasonable $500 minimum of the CR Rotunda Courtyard. I'm still not sold on it because I'm concerned about the view of Wishes from there. Would they deliver my cake directly to that venue so that it could be part of the DP offerings?? Also, do they charge for the music at CR like they do for GF?
