Hi all! I'm trying to find as much information as I can about the Disneyland Escape package. There seems to be a plethora of info about the WDW package... but the DL Escape seems very different. If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it!

  • What is the 3 course plated meal that is shown on the website? Where is this done at?
  • Do kids under 2 count toward the guest limit?
  • Is there a room requirement for the bride and groom (like how WDW is 4 nights, I believe... I know it's 10 nights total for guests.)?
  • Is there a planning session?
  • What are the extras I can add on? Anything comparable to the Illuminations dessert party at WDW?
  • Any suggestions/tips about Escape weddings at DL?

Thanks in advance! :)

  • What is the 3 course plated meal that is shown on the website? Where is this done at? a banquet room, usually the smaller ones but still pretty
  • Do kids under 2 count toward the guest limit? hmm I don't believe so since they don't get a meal but you'll have to ask a planner just to be sure.
  • Is there a room requirement for the bride and groom (like how WDW is 4 nights, I believe... I know it's 10 nights total for guests.)? 5 nights. However this can divided between you and all the guests. When we were planning an Escape, we were going to take three nights and make my mom take 2.
  • Is there a planning session?Yup, the biggest difference between wishes and escape besides the guest count is no cocktail hour. Well that's what the planner told me. I also hear the reception is a little different with no dance floor but you can still play music.
  • What are the extras I can add on? Anything comparable to the Illuminations dessert party at WDW? I'm not sure about the dessert party but there are upgrades to the package as far as drinks and cake goes. I'm sure they will help plan something else. The only thing is the dessert party at DL isn't sectioned off like WDW, you're sitting with everyone who reserved it.
  • Any suggestions/tips about Escape weddings at DL? make a pro and cons list. If you're worried about guest count you can always do a small get together back home. We were going to get one of those fancy penthouse suites at NYNY which is only $300 a night, DEAL!!! and throw a "wedding send off reception". If you end up doing that I can help with ideas.

Thanks in advance! :)[/QUOTE]

Thank you so much Kaylars!!! The send off reception is an amazing idea. I'd definitely like to hear more about what you're planning for that because I might do something similar! :)

So helpful! I also joined the Disneyland Brides group on FB, so I'm hoping to get a lot of information there too. Did you already book your suite at NYNY? I'm debating if we should do something before or after the wedding when we return from our honeymoon... Along the lines of etiquette, are you two planning to register for gifts?

I really should join FB again for that but I hate FB. We aren't going to book since we are going with the wishes wedding now. We're doing the Disney Honeymoon registry since we already have a home and having a Disney trip meant more to us then a toaster. Now if you were to do this I would suggest having a "wedding send off reception" before you get married that way they can put towards your regisrty before you honeymoon.

If you go with the NYNY suite you can buy some platters and alcohol with mix and hire your own bartenders and wait staff for $100. That way it really feels like a reception.

You definitely should join! The group has tons of information and the girls are really nice!

If we do the reception send away it would probably be at GVR or Red Rock since they're off the strip and I am able to get a discount. Hopefully they have the option to hire a staff...something to think about near the end of this year. How are you planning to word your invite to the pre-reception for the guests who will not be attending the DL wedding?

Love the pool at red rock. Still not sure about wording, I would hire outside of red rock to work the event. Once you get into hiring red rock for food and staff they tack on a service charge and other stuff.

Get your own platters from a deli like Boars Head inside Glaziers, a fruit platter, maybe some hot hors devours from a favorite restaurant, couple bottles of alcohol and beer if you wish to serve that. Then if you happen to know any bartenders or waiters ask them to work your event for x amount and just to wear black slacks and a black button up. I would put aside maybe $300-$500 for food and drinks depending on how elaborate you want it.

If you we're to pay 2 people $100 each for four hours they would be making $25 an hour or if they worked 6 hours it would be $16 which either way is still good.

Good ideas! I'm glad I have a long time to plan and look into everything. So funny you mention Glaziers because I live like 2 minutes away from there. Lol.
Right now I'm planning to start my PJ and a new binder for the escape wedding + at home reception, and another one for our honeymoon! :)
