Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Evening all,
Well, what a day at work, both my assistants were off sick again, one hasn't been in for 4 weeks now and the other was worked 9 days in the past 6 weeks. I know they are poorly but I am getting tired of spending my Sundays planning work for them to do then 10 minutes before they are due to arrive on Monday morning getting a text to say they are not coming in. Then I have to quickly work out what the children who they were going to be working with can do instead on their own.

Slo How is your hand today? I hope it is starting to get better.

Geffric Do you have any plans for Geof's birthday? I hope he has a nice day.

Well it's time to go and start cooking dinner!

DANAUK - it really stinks that they don't let you know until the last minute.. can you do anythig about it??

Geoff is very busy with friends so he is letting us celebrate on Good Friday if he doesn't have other plans... yes he will be 18.. and rather be with his friends not us..

My hand still hurts today, but it hasn't split back open - I tried to not use it much yesterday. I need it to heal fast because I have a couple cross-stitches to stretch, and I don't want to bleed on them - that would not be good:sad2: Thanks for the well wishes!!!:goodvibes

geffric -Happy bday to Geoff :cake:
I hope he had a good day!!!!

Danauk - How annoying about your co-workers :headache: What kind of sickness do they have that they can't let you know until the last minute that they are coming in?

Well, I must go eat my grapefruit, and get Stephanie up for school:teacher:
Have a good day everyone!!

Evening everyone,

Well I spoke to the boss about my assistant issues. One of them came in today to bring her sick line in, she didn't look too good, but I didn't mention that to her. This assistant I wasn't expecting back until after Easter but on Friday she text to say she was coming back this week instead, but then Monday morning she text to say she was going back to the doctors. She has emphasima and asthma so can easily have breathing attacks. My other assisant has MS, so quite often she will wake up that morning and not be able to come in. My boss has agreed to swap some of the assistants around so I will have a different assistant after the holidays. Ialso found out at work this week I am getting a slight promotion, it is not one I asked for, nor to be honest one that I really want to have to do, but it means I will now be in charge of maths in the school instead of computers. It also puts me back on the school senior team, which in turn means more chats with the lovely inspectors when they visit!!

Slo How is your hand today?

I'm back, just got home a few days ago from Disney; we stayed at Wilderness Lodge this trip and had a blast. We really love this resort and hope to buy into them in the future. We had a really good trip, the weather was great until the last day and my wife and i really had a great time together. As you can tell by my countdown tickers we have a trip in July for our anniversary and then a trip at the end of November for the whole family at the Treehouse Villas and we can't wait. I have started my last class in school so in 5 weeks I will be done with school and i can't wait for the break, i have been going for awhile. I'm already thinking come fall i may go back and start working on my Master's degree next, in the fall my wife will be going back to school to get her nursing degree so things are going to be hectic. The other good news is we have already discussed it and have begun looking, after she is done with school in 2 years we are moving to Florida, I can't wait. I should be able to start posting a little more as my school schedule lightens up, hope everyone has a great day.

wlecome back Yen Sid.. tell us more about your Disney adventures.. any fun rides, dining?? hope the last class goes well. BTW we are there at the end of July on the military passes.. if you wanna meet anytime let me know.

Wonder if CMOM had a good time at WDW for spring break??

DanaUK..congrats on your promotion.. do you get more money with that?? Glad that they are switching the assts around, it doesn't seem fair to stick you with both of the sickies..

I have an interview today.. so hoping that this is real.. a friend of mine when on several interviews at a company.. only to be told that they had a hiring freeze and would get back to her after that!!!

:cheer2: Congrats Danauk on the promotion!

 Welcome back Yen Sid.

Sorry I've been MIA lately

I had so much fun last night - my best friend came over and treated us to dinner. The pizza she brought was so yummy, and then we played 500 Rummy, and I won!!!!:woohoo: I don't win much at things, so when I do, it's pretty exciting. Jennifer is already planning a rematch, because she's not good at losing, and she said she needs to study a strategy, and then we need to play again:rotfl: We had some great laughs last night, it was great!!!

Danauk - Congrats on the promotion, even though you don't want it. As much as you don't want it, I guess it's still nice to get a promotion. I hope it turns out better than you are expecting, but I know how stressful those inspectors are for you, so when you want to vent, we are here to listen :grouphug:
**The hand still hurts, but it's healing - thanks for asking :)

YenSid - Great to hear from you!!!! I'm glad you had a great trip, and it's great to hear about all the greatness the future is holding for you and your family:)

geffric - How did the interview go?

Belle - :wave2:

Well, I must get ready to run my errands - lots to do!!
Have a good day!!!

Hi everyone,

Slo I'm glad your hand is healing now, congratulations on the game win with your friends. I really fancy pizza for dinner now!!

Geffric It sounds like things are still hectic for you! Good luck with the volunteering, maybe it will lead to a job.

NCBelle How is your family doing?

Well, thank goodness it is fianlly the school holidays! Even though I am in on Monday and Tuesday it is for 1:1 tuition with the 10/11 year olds so that will be OK. I have to open up the school though as the head and caretaker are on holiday so I hope I get the alarms right and the police don't end up coming out!!

I should be going, I am hosting the quiz this month on the Disneyland Paris board, so I need to go and think of another question! I have been using photos I have taken there this year so far as quiz questions!

:surfweb:

Danauk - Good luck being the head lady at school for a couple of days. I bet you are so excited about being on break for awhile:cool1:What are you going to do? Are you and Pete going back to Alton Towers for a day?

Not to much going on around here.
It's a rainy day, so I"m going to spend it cleaning house - this house always needs cleaning - why is that:confused:As soon as I clean it, it needs it again - so frustrating!!!!:headache:

So I better eat, and get right on that
Have a good day!

Well today was a glorious day in the middle of England, perfect Spring weather. So I did some gardening. I put a fence up around one of the flower beds to protect the spring flowers from the bunnies teeths! Yesterday we ordered a new pond which will be delivered in the week (the current liner is leaking, I am not looking forward to having to take it out - I don't actually know how many fish we have!) so we will need to put that in and figure out where to put the fish in the mean time! We may have a day at Alton Towers, it depends on how the gardening goes! Pete has some overtime at school too for some exam revision so he has that to do. On Wednesday we are going to London which I am looking forward to with my SIL and BIL.

FIL Update--- He is still doing great despite his prognosis. FIL and MIL are still planning to take the 12 year old grand-daughter for 2 weeks in June to Ireland...however, they can't get trip insurance on him. I'm concerned on some issues like how he gets tired easily and the long flight in coach with his cancer spread (it spread from its main source to the bones and liver/? on other organs) and a lot of what ifs.

We had great weather all weekend. NC Beast was giving the lawn mower a tune-up today. I watched him after the NASCAR race was finished.

I had a great day yesterday!:)
I worked alot around the house - I cleaned and cleaned. Then at 3:30pm I curled up with a blanket on the couch and watched tv until bedtime - it was great!!!! I watched RV, The Day After Tomorrow, and then The Fast and the Furious. I've seen all these before, but that's okay, it was nice to relax:goodvibes

We had snow last night and it was pretty incredible. When I took Sophie out, when it first started snowing, the flakes were so large, that it was loud when they would hit the umbrella. Sophie didn't know what to think - she kept chasing them. As much as I hate snow - it was pretty cool standing outside last night. Now, I hope it all goes away super fast!!!!!!

Danauk - I"m glad you guys are having nice weather :sunny: because our is :cold: Enjoy your time gardening, and with all the other things you have planned:cool1:

Belle - I think it's great that your FIL is so ambitious, but I would be very nervous about him leaving the country too ::yes:: I will keep him in my prayers, and please keep us posted on how he is doing.

Time to get Stephanie up for school - have a good day everyone!!!

did the doc give him permission to travel?? Maybe he will be more comfortable in first class..:rotfl2:..what about meds? Can he take them on board?

We have SNOW!!!! It is unbelievable..SNOW!..

Morning Taglikins!

So, why are you Chicagoland folks surprised about snow? Seems to me you ALWAYS get an April snow. Just be sure there isn't any in May when I head out that way!

I finally saw some action from my family about making plans for our September cruise. Brother and his bride and sister Peg have booked pre-cruise stays at the Best Western oceanfront in Cocoa Beach for two days before the cruise. Peg & Jose will do the Kennedy Space Center that Friday and Paul & Jill will lie on the beach. Dianne will fly down Friday and join me at WDW for that night at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, and we'll all met up at the terminal Sat am. :thumbsup2

This week starts my WDW stamina training. Got to build up those walking, walking, walking muscles.

.

Hey Guys! It is good to be back. It was really crowded at WDW. Too many Fl spring breakers. We were able to squeeze in a princess breakfast at the castle. That is always nice. I chose a day were the weather was a little rainy and I guess people did not show up. But we did!

Geffric How did the interview go?

Belle, it is amazing your FIL is planning on a trip to Ireland. Wow!!He has a ton more stamina than I do

DANA you got a promotion? Congrats. I guess I didn't read far enough back!

SLO did you ever hire a replacement employee? Sounds like you've been having a pretty good week with friends!

ibounce...start walking now! I started too late and my knees are killing me!!!

off to get my house back n order...ugh

I think my in-laws are planning to go even without an okay and would stay with his cousins. They went years ago when his mom had cancer and had to do iv medicines. I hate to dash their hopes, but I think he may want to test to see if he last a weekend at their beach condo without one of them needing an er visit or extra medical attention. I don't recall how many years ago it was when they went to Hawaii after his angioplasty the week before that trip. She had them biking up a volcano. I think it was 3 or 4 years ago, he broke his fingers and had hand surgery....so the following week MIL strapped a paint brush to FIL's hand to do touch up painting since they were about to sell their city home. The priest that they treat like a son teases them about those 2 incidents. He has been making sure that she has not put FIL on full chore duty yet. FIL does not like sitting still for a long time unless it is watching golf and other sports.

:rolleyes1 MIL did put candles on his birthday pie (wanted to celebrate b-day when everyone was there) when FIL was on oxygen and had the older granddaughter present it.

The snow melted really fast - that's great!!!!:thumbsup2

ibounce - Sounds like the plans for your September cruise are coming along nicely:thumbsup2
**I will do everything I can to make sure there's no snow in May - I take much more!!!!

cheeringmom - That's a bummer that WDW was packed:guilty:I've never been during a break time, so I have no idea what a totally packed park is like.
**No, I never hired another employee because the store is not doing well, and in fact, I trying to determine what to do with the employees that I have. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to afford them, but the thought of telling them that breaks my heart, and the thought of working 100% of the time doesn't excite me either - I'm very conflicted on what I should do:headache:

Belle - Your in-laws sound like an exciting couple and keep everyone in the family on their toes:) How does your DH feel about them going overseas?

It's time to eat my grapefruit (I went to Aldi's last night and got some more, but the price isn't as great anymore - they are now $0.49 a piece - so I only got 4), and then get Steph up for school.
Have a great day!!!

Howdy folks!

So we had a surprise extra winter here the last two days that has really irked the bejeebus outta me!!! It's been freezing...wet and we had sleet to boot...it'd supposed to be HOT here now!!!

I miss you folks...I keep saying I'm going to come by here more often...but apparently that's like my promising to floss...I might as well be cursing myself...

So what have I missed around here?

::sitting down with a bottle of Corona and Krispi Kreme doughnuts::

I'm listening...
