Hi

Can anyone help me with a timeline.

We will be having the ceremony at sea breeze point at 2.30 then having a dinner somewhere either yachtsman steakhouse or a private room in a hotel followed by a DP at Epcot.

I concerned of how this will work as they said we could only have the room for 2hours and a dinner at yachtsman will be no more than that so don't know what to do to pass time all staying together

There will be 19 of us including 4 kids

Many thanks

Hope this helps a little bit. We recently had an Escape VR at the wedding pavilion. Here is how the day shaped up: 1:30PM limo picked up my husband and some of our guests and transported them from the Beach Club where we were staying to the Wedding Pavilion. 2:00 PM limo picked me up along with the remainder of our guests and transported us to the Wedding Pavilion. Ceremony started at 2:30 PM followed by pictures. During the photo session, our guests were transported to the Grand Floridian where our Cake and Champagne reception was held. Following pictures at the Wedding Pavilion, the limo took us over to the Grand Floridian and we were all escorted to the reception. the reception was about 45 minutes or so with pictures. The limo then took us back to the Beach Club. We arrived back there approximately 5:00 PM. We quickly changed and headed to dinner (we had a dinner booked offsite). The taxi picked up our guests at 5:30PM and we arrived at dinner at 6:00 PM. I know it's not exactly the same location but at least it will give you some sort of timeline for the day.

We did a 2:30 ceremony at SBP, followed by the cake cutting and photos. We had a 6:00 dinner reservation at the GF (and if you are doing an Epcot DP, then you probably will be starting dinner between 5:00 and 6:00). Our guests (4 adults, 3 kids) rejected my suggestions about what to do and opted to return to Animal Kingdom Lodge after we took some photos that included them, and they returned to GF and met us at Mizner's Lounge at 5:00.

So, you might want to ask your guests what they want to do to help you plan. I thought my guests would want to be occupied between the ceremony and dinner, but they were happier relaxing in a hotel room. If your guests aren't staying in an Epcot area resort, you might want to get a room where they can relax at one of the resorts.

If your guests would be interested in some activities and you want to stay in the Epcot area, there are things to do at the hotels, or perhaps you could put together a scavenger or hidden Mickey hunt that they could do in teams, then meet up at one of the lounges for a drink before dinner. Kids are welcome in the lounges, and at our wedding, the kids were perfectly content to have a soft drink and snack mix in Mizner's Lounge before dinner - I think it made them feel a bit grown up.

Hope you find a solution - someone must have some good ideas out there!

This is how our timeline went. Everything was at WP & GF so didn't need too much travelling time.

2:30>3 Wedding
3>3:30 Photos with family
3:30>4 Cake & First Dance
4>4:30 Extended Cake & Champagne Reception for guests - Bride & Groom photos
5>7 Reception but this over ran till 7:30
8>9 DP (fireworks were on at 8:30)

Because of the short gap between the reception & DP hardly anything got eaten at the DP.

Thank you all so much this has really helped.

Can I ask a question and I don't mean to offend if it comes across the wrong way?

I have read on lots of threads that as an escape bride you don't get the same service or attention from Disney as a wishes bride. Is this true because a part of me feels like if we are spending all this money perhaps we should spend a bit more to do wishes so I get to feel like a princess for the day and we get the best treatment.

It's so much especially coming from the UK and bringing our families I just want it to be perfect

Thank you

Short answer no. I had a great experience with Disney and my day was nearly perfect. On my wedding day I had brilliant service from Dsiney and my planner was wonderful the whole way through. But of course you are picking a cheaper package so Wishes Brides should get more.

Hi Claire

Thank you for your response.

I completely agree of course wishes brides should get more I guess I'm just nervous planning a wedding from so far away and DF's parents aren't huge fans of mine anyway so I didn't want to give them more reasons to criticise our wedding plus I want it to be magical for our children.

I don't know what I'm thinking really I can't imagine getting married at Disney would be anything less than magical

Our Escape Vow Renewal was absolutely perfect! I felt like a princess the whole day and felt that we were given Disney's undivided attention. It wasn't a Wishes package but it was absolutely perfect! You will have a wonderful day no matter which one you pick!

If I can help at all just PM me and i'll do my best. I didn't find planning it from the UK a problem. Ignore the out laws, its your day, just concentrate on you and your DF.

I'm going to have to agree with the others. I felt like a princess the day of my wedding. I had the best experience the day of my wedding. Disney was very attentive and helpful. The only problem I had was with my Planner answering my emails in a timely fashion...but she was so great the day of the wedding and days leading up to the wedding! Hope that helps ease your concerns!!

I didn't feel in the least bit shortchanged as an Escape bride. I felt like everyone at DFTW gave me wonderful service and attention. In some ways, we might have had more attention because we were a smaller party and it was easier for the Disney staff to give us more individualized attention.

We had our escape wedding at SBP 8 years ago this month. It was wonderful and Disney treated us fantastic. Our wedding was at 3:00 pm. By the time the ceremony, cake cutting, dance and photo's were done it was after 4:00 pm. We walked back to the Boardwalk taking more pictures. Our limo picked us and our guests and took us to YC for dinner at YSH. It took 2 limo trips for the entire party so we hung out in the YC lobby. Then checked in for our 5:30 dinner at YSH. Short wait and then seated in a corner with a wonderful table. You do need the first reservation because of a big party. Service was awesome with personalized menu's. We left there about 8:00 pm and some of us walked back to the Boardwalk and the rest took the limo.

It was a magical day! Celebrating 8 years on the 23rd of this month.
