Escape Reception

Hello!

I am currently planning an a Escape ceremony for 18 guests. My fiancé and I don't want to have a huge reception after, but instead maybe just a nice dinner with fireworks to follow.

Any suggestions on where we could go for dinner with a party of 20 that won't break our bank?!

I would suggest you do a group reservation in EPCOT somewhere and stay for the fireworks. You would have to change our of your dress first though.

Unless you are thinking Wishes at MK?

Logistically it might depend on where/when your ceremony was...

The ceremony will be at SBP. Ideally, I'd want to have a 5pm ceremony, but if that has to be switched to a little earlier for logistic reasons, I'm easy to please.

I'm in the midst of making a rough itinerary (including meals) but I've already changed it four times. I have so many dreams and favorite spots to see, but only 4 days (including check in day and wedding day) with my guests!

I guess it really depends on what you want as far as theming goes for your wedding...do you want like an upscale feel to the dinner or a layed back time? I know a lot of people talk about the Attic on here and host a private meal there. It's at the Boardwalk... I'm not sure of all the logistics but I asked Lurkyloo about it on her blog and she told me that as long as you meet the minimum food and beverage requirements (I'm pretty sure it's $1500 for an event after 12 I think it was...I could be wrong...) you maybe able to book a private meal there, providing that a wishes couple doesn't book it first I'm assuming. That might be very special and I was thinking about doing that, myself for my special day... I'm pretty sure it's buffet style only though if you go that route.

Well, again, if you wanted to do dinner in EPCOT, you'd have to change out of your dress first.
You could wear your dress to one of the restaurants in BW, YC, BC. Yachtsman might get pricey for 20 people though...I wouldn't suggest the other eating establishments for dinner, but someone here may know more.

We did a big group for dinner at Biergarten as like our goodbye meal for the wedding. I think it was only 16 people at that point. It was fun. The only thing I just realized is, if you do group dining, you have to eat at the earliest or latest dining times. So, the earliest would be too close to your ceremony time and the later time wouldn't leave you enough time to see the fireworks....
If you do a 2:30 ceremony (or is it 2?), you'd have time to take some pics after, change out of your wedding dress maybe into something still white but more casual and do a dinner at 5:30 in EPCOT, then do fireworks...

Oh geez...whoops! I guess knowing a budget would make it easier to give advice. I thought feeding a group of 20 for $1500 didn't sound half bad, but I guess you're right, there are definitely a lot cheaper options.

Well, that rocks! Then you can just go to dinner with your suits/tuxes on!! You'll be the best dressed party in whatever place you choose!
