  1. Are Escape brides allowed to bring anything to the ceremony? Favors? Decor of any kind?
  2. Does DFTW frown upon Escape brides trying to have their reception at a resort restaurant as a large ADR instead of a reception?
  3. Are Escape brides allowed to plan Epcot dessert parties?
  4. If so, any chance they'll let us do our cake and champagne toast at the evening dessert party instead of the morning ceremony?

Thanks, in advance, for any answers. I've read around the board over the last week but really didn't see anything recent on these issues (and I couldn't get search to work.) We had planned a Wishes ceremony for the better part of a year and then, we had an unexpected death in the family. It was the person who introduced me (and is responsible for all of my visits) to WDW. I had to push Disney out of my mind for a while to heal.

Now that I'm past the painful part of mourning, I want something different than I wanted with our Wishes wedding. I want something intimate and honoring just close family and a few friends. We picked a day that is very special to us that happens to be in the middle of the week and we are completely ok with no one showing up if they can't make it. This is for us...this time.

We'll call DFTW sometime next week but wanted to see if these things were possible before we contact them again.

Favors, personal floral, programs, aisle petals. Big, highly visible decor must be provided by Disney Floral.

No.

Yes.

Part of what makes Escape so easy for Disney is doing everything a certain way, and unless you're having a catered reception planned through them directly after the ceremony, they won't set the cake up elsewhere. However, they do box it up after the cake and Champagne reception, so you could carry it into Epcot with you if you wanted. But it will be dismantled.

The most reliable way to search this site is to put your terms into Google with site:disboards.com :thumbsup2

I'm very sorry for your loss.

So does that mean if you ARE having a catered event directly after an escape ceremony, you can forgo the cake and champagne celebration in order for the cake to be moved to the catered event space? (Does that make sense? I hope that makes sense) I was hoping someone would ask that question...:confused3

What they have done in the past is just set up the cake and Champagne in the reception venue—they weren't at the ceremony site at all.

Woot! Thanks Lurkyloo! OP, sorry for hijacking :scared: but I loved your questions and I was looking for similar answers...:flower3:

We had a dinner after our ceremony at the grand floridian. The cake was set up at the hotel. (however, we were married in the pavilion, so the GF was right there.
