Hi All :wave2:

Just dreaming along today and my mind (well fingers) ended up on the disney wedding page.

Me & My finace have our wedding booked for the UK for 03/06/16 but its not a 'legal' wedding as I want to get married in the gardens and they dont have a licence. So the plan was the week before to make it legal in the local registry office.

But NOW im thinking, we could do this in Disney World, just the 2 of us? Does anyone know if Disney could provide witnesses to sign the certificate or would we have to come as a party of 4?

I notice online the escape package minimum is $2495. How feasable is it to do the wedding on this budget?

I.e stick to whats offered, no extra's. I was thinking we could get married early evening about 5/6pm if available and then have dinner at Cali Grill after just the two of us? I know the meal would be extra afterwards.

Thanks guys :)

Deary Me! Im already confused, I think I actually mean the Memories package dont I!

Hiya! I was going to say, just the two of you? Are you sure you were thinking of the Escape and not Memories package? ;) Thanks for putting that second post in.

As for how the marriage certificate, I've heard of lots of couples eloping just the 2 of them - since you're in Florida, you'd need to get a Florida marriage certificate (I'm sure someone will come and send you the link for the mail away one for Brevard county). And I think that you may not need the signatures for Florida (though someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Also, you'll want to check, but I can't remember if Memories packages include the officiant - the others don't, but Disney generally supplies you with a list of officiants to choose from.

I think your idea sounds lovely, btw! Sounds like a nice, relaxed day. :)

The Memoires package does not include an officiant, but the officiant doesn't count towards the guest count even if you take someone that isn't on Disney's preferred vendor list.
Also make sure that you look up everything that you need to count as married in the UK - that differs from country to country!
Also Lurkyloo's website Disney travel babble features great information on how to order a cake to your dinner afterwards, since there is no cake included in the package! She also has a podcast called the Disney Wedding Podcast on which she interviewed couples that did the memories package - maybe you want to look into that!

Thanks, Aschenputtel! :goodvibes

No witnesses are required to sign the marriage license in Florida, but they do leave space for 2 signatures for those who might want them. The only thing you need to get a license in Florida is your passport. You can apply for the license by mail here: http://brevardclerk.us/_cache/files...4c0e5e1ec/Marriage License By Mail Merged.pdf

I have a podcast episode on getting a marriage license here: http://disneyweddingpodcast.com/2013/04/10/how-to-get-your-marriage-license/

I have complete details on how to order a fancy cake at WDW here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/

And I have a bunch of interviews with Memories brides here: http://disneyweddingpodcast.com/category/walt-disney-world/memories-collection/

Happy planning!
