If you added a private reception onto your package at what point were you allowed to book & confirm the location?

Espcially interested in those who used Whitehall room, Napa room or Ariels. Were you intially told you couldn't use that room?
I know there are a few Escape brides who have used all these rooms but I'm being told they are all reserved for Wishes weddings only and therefor can't get approval for an Escape wedding :sad2: and Napa room & Ariels F&B minimums are too high for groups of 20 people or less, yet I can use Sonoma room which has the same minimums as the Napa room so doesn't make sense to me. As long as they aren't booked and I reach the room minimums I don't get why I still can't use them.

Honestly I'm gutted as these really are the only 3 rooms that I love, I have a list of ones that I can use but none of them really feel 'special' and what I want and strangely some even have higher minimums than Napa & Ariels :confused3

Hi, we used the Napa Room for our Escape wedding this past December. I remember when I first asked my planner about the room she sent me information on the Sonoma Room. I told her that I wanted the Napa because it has incredible views. She then switched it to the Napa Room. This all happened about 7 or so months out because we we originally undecided about adding on the extras since we would trigger that $7500 minimum.
I was never told that they were held only for Wishes weddings but things are always changing so you never know. :confused3
I will also add that we had a hard time meeting the rooms minimums because we only had 20 people and the minimums have to be met before taxes. We ended up adding on a few extra bottles of the apple Cider from the ceremony and adding BOC drinks.

You should ask about the Napa Room again since it is so worth the views and you have direct access to the catwalks right from the room. The view of the Magic Kingdom is gorgeous and I thought the staff was exceptional. I hope you get the room.
Let us know what happens. :wizard:

When I was with my sales assistant (the same as yours) they emailed me information about all 3 of those rooms - Ariels definetly had a lunchtime minimum of $1000. what is it now?

The only difference as an escape bride was I had to pay a $50 charge for being a small group (but I guess all some groups pay that?).

You are actually one of the Escape brides I had noticed had got to use the Napa room ;)
I have been offered and sent the information for Sonoma room but like you I want the Napa room for those gorgeous views if I'm going to use a room at the Cali Grill, the views of Magic KIngdom are what make the room 'special' too me and I don't some regular room I could get anywhere else :sad2:
The minimums for both rooms are $1000 for events ending before 4pm so I don't get why they can offer me one and tell me Escape brides can't use the other because the numbers are too small to reach to F&B min :confused3

Well I haven't been given the minimum for Ariels because 'it's not an option for Escape brides' but as far as I'm aware it's still $1000.
I guess they think because the rooms fit quite a few more people than I'm having they could make more money from them :sad2: I can't help that 50 people won't travel 10hrs on a flight to come to my wedding.

The options I was given were -

Key West
Sonoma Room
Sago Cay
Attic
Marvin Gardens
Cape cod and
Narcoossee's

Aww that's so dumb! I don't understand why they told you you can't use the Napa room. :(

If it helps, I'm using the Attic for my wedding (we upgraded to a Wishes, but we were going to use the Attic anyway) and I absolutely, positively LOVE it! It doesn't have a view of MK... but it DOES have a gorgeous view of Spaceship Earth!

I guess if I HAD to use one of those it would be The Attic but if that I'm not happy with, as much as I think it's a lovely room and pretty veiws it's just not 'us' if that makes sense? and that's whats really important on our wedding day

I'm really confused as to why they won't let you use the Napa Room. I was never given any indication that I wouldn't be able to use it. Plus, if a couple is having a Wishes Wedding they should have already booked the room for your date if they were going to use it since they can book further in advance.

You can always tell your planner that you know of other Escape couples that used the Napa Room and see what she comes back with.
